unpopular opinion : desiring to do nothing all day but clean and cook for males is not natural, the reason why women who are tradfem desire this is because of patriarchy and female socialization because men don't desire to clean after women and cook for women, it's not natural.
This is clearly not a good faith take but I will answer it anyway.
Most SAHM's do a lot more than just cook and clean all day. Also for what it's worth, I do work. I just don't work a steady job so I'm able to be there for my children. I do seamstressing, I take care of people's pets when they travel, I do occasional house cleaning, I put together furniture, I repair furniture, I babysit, I sell our old items online, I sell food grown in our garden and baked goods I make, and anything else I can do on my own schedule.
My primary role is taking care of our 3, soon to be 5 children who are too young to be enrolled in school. We do not homeschool. I was not raised religiously, but I've always had a penchant for cooking and cleaning. I especially like developing recipes for my cookbook.
I also am in a Church choir, I am in a tutoring program for children through my parish, am part of the bereavement ministry group, go to Bible study, have a book club, am part of a food train, and have a close knit group of friends, and a good relationship with most of my parish, my neighbors, and my children's friends parents. Among other things.
I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant with twins so my life hasn't been much more than sitting around and occasionally cooking and cleaning. If you look at my last post you'll see my husband and other's close to me have picked up on some of those duties. My husband has also been helping me a lot with cleaning, even though he works 60+ hours with only one day fully off each week.
I do not spend all day cooking and cleaning for males, I spend a lot of my time cooking and cleaning for our family. Before we had kids, I worked outside of the home. I started working at 13 years old, and I've never fully stopped working at any point.
I do what I do because I enjoy this and chose this life. I do not think everyone needs to live the way I do. I do not think that my life is superior to others. I think we should strive to be Christlike in our actions, but that will look different in each person. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses that make us uniquely helpful that no one else can replicate. We all bear our own crosses. I have no authority to condemn the actions of others, I just try to be kind to all and understand how they've ended up where they are.
I don't do this because I believe this is the role prescribed for all women by God, I do this because I felt that it was my calling, and I'm honored to be the one to take it up. I'm blessed beyond words with all that I have, and it's all thanks to God.
I know others like to prescribe lifestyles for others based on their own proclivity to a certain lifestyle, but I stand by that God has set a path for everyone, and they must maintain free will to do as they choose. I cannot force anyone to do anything, especially if it isn't coming from a higher source than me. We all have our own lives to lead and I'm not the one to judge who is right or wrong.
