But I think in a very close second would be the day she defeats the institute. All the lives lost, the scientist and syths that had to be killed to put the institute down like a rabid dog.

Shaun, her son, died hating her for destroying everything that he'd been raised to love and believe in, and she could not even hold him as he lay in bed dying- and that's not even mentioning the final confirmation that the boy she'd made with her own flesh and blood was no longer and never again would be the son of Nancy and Nathan Hart, but instead a grown child of the institute alone. From his perspective she was a monster, and from hers... She was robbed of her baby all over again, this time by her own hand.

And on the way out, as if solely to add insult to injury and salt in the wound, after she'd just left a conversation with her only child spitting righteous venom and wanting nothing more to do with her, she's confronted by a young boy built to look just like her child who runs up and hugs her legs and calls her 'Mom'.

All of that could be managed, with mourning and time, but she comes home to celebration. The minutemen, the brotherhood, the railroad and all the people of the commonwealth, all celebrating, all cheering, all praising her, all relieved, for the day she killed her son and murdered so many others, and she knows they're not wrong to feel that way.

Rose is terrified mostly of two things.

MANNEQUINS and small spaces.

She swears she saw the mannequins in Tenpenny Tower moving on their own, mostly limbs and eyes following her when the Tower was still being renovated and shortly after. Everyone laughs it off because they can’t move, they’re all bolted down to a stand. But Rose is even more afraid of them in Boston. She hides and holds onto Hancock when they find them in creepy poses standing over skeletons.

And her claustrophobia was caused by Vault 108.

4. What's an item that is deeply important and special to them? What makes it so special?

christopher is deeply sentimental so he has a lot of objects that are special to him, but his pip-boy is probably the most important. it's like a dear friend that he can barely function without. he needs to know where he is, what time it is, exactly how much crap he's carrying, and what's going on with his body at all times... and his friend Pip-Boy 3000 is there to tell him. plus he has soooo many important files stored on it...

nat doesn't really get attached to objects. she feels like she always ends up losing everything eventually anyway.

esther's most special object is the violin that shaun leaves for her in her room when she finally gets to the institute... at first it's a beacon of hope for her, that there's some humanity left in shaun, but after the institute's destruction she sees it as an opportunity to make something beautiful out of all the evil they (she & her family) did.

5. Do they have any collections?

christopher is a massive hoarder thanks to not having much of his own in the vault, so if he sees something cool, he's going to take it home. but his biggest collections are probably nuka-cola quantums and pre-war books...

nat collects jewelry! turns out jewelry stores aren't most people's first priority to loot after a nuclear apocalypse so she's able to build a pretty sizeable collection even after having to leave her old life behind several times.

Leave the ship behind for a moment, what are some headcanons you have for them as individuals in relationships? Silly quirks, or any tendencies they need to quit? Are they selfish or a people-pleaser?

Would they get into fights? What over, and how do they move forward?

What would their friends and family think of their relationship? Are they supportive or not too keen?

Is marriage something thats in their future? Do they want to get married? Do they not want to get married? Do they break up before it happens?

Would they want to have kids at some point? Or do they already have them?

Try and think of either 3 silly or angsty headcanons for them as a couple? Depending on the dynamic of the ship, could be anything at all. If you cant think of 3, thats fine.
