Unfortunately I feel like a lot of people on tumblr ignore the historical contexts regarding the themes of hamlet . Such is the result of only showing your students modernized versions of Shakespeare! A real shame, especially since 1600s hamlet outfit designs are so fun.

Honestly if people are going to write Hamlet as debilitatingly hesitant outside of the traumatic context of his story I want to see (variants of this where there’s) genuine horrific anxiety coming from this man.

I want to see him obsessing and ruminating over whether an oddly ambiguous piece of trash he has goes into garbage or recycling and then after he finally makes a decision his day is ruined because he can’t stop thinking about if he made the right choice
