Your idea is to develop a robot that can do cleaning services as well as any other human being so your mother doesnât need to lift another finger (after all, she is old and tired, you want her to enjoy her time).
So, your robot is done! It works wonderfully. Your mother is proud and congratulates you. Friends and family love your robot, such a great idea! It takes away so many hours and now no one needs to worry about dirty floors and sweeping for hours. Done in minutes by your amazing technology.
Soon the word spread. In your university, some investors are looking for you. They want to mass produce your robot. No more tired housewives slaving all day to keep their houses clean, now they can focus on raising the kids as it should be⌠you sign contracts all day. The robot is a success!
One day, back at your motherâs house (of course you bought her her own house with all the money you have now!), the first thing you notice is that she put away the robot. You ask her why. She is shy, says it is too efficient, she doesnât it too often. You donât buy it. She looks sad. You pressure her a bit more. She admits sheâs ashamed of it, tells you about all her co-workers, her friends for years!, are now unemployed. Their bossâs boss had the great idea to replace all the staff with robots.
