i think it's really interesting why there are so many words in quarian language that does not translate into the common lexicon. you see it every now and again from some of the other races (ardat-yakshi, siha, etc.), but waaay more often than not, it's the quarian language that you hear with a naked ear. and i think it means two things: 1. the quarians have been essentially blacklisted from the galactic space for creating the geth. i think that there would be much more of an emphasis on translator mods working for council races, and races that populate the major worlds of mass effect (hanar, elcor, volus, batarians, humans). i don't think they are taken into as much consideration when developing the translator technology. which that alone would maybe suggest that there are some translations for quarian language that would sound seamless enough, but just aren't implemented, if it weren't for point 2) i think that in their isolation, you would see a rapid evolution of quarian language. splinter groups that live in isolation often see rapid transformations of their language, grammar, expressions, lexicon, etc. 300 years as societal outcasts is a long time for language to evolve, and the pilgrimage is really only max a few years for a lot of these quarians. i think that there isn't a neat, cute translation that would make sense for a lot of races because i think that their language evolved in a vacuum where translator chips turn obsolete. so when you see a quarian say ke'lah selai or bosh'tet, there isn't a translation that would really make sense for a lot of aliens without sounding repetitive or redundant. tali tries her best to describe exactly what ke'lah selai means, but even in a common lexicon, it's hard to describe exactly how it translates.

Honestly the idea of getting Liara after doing Virmire is so funny. Even funnier if it's the last of the main missions you do. Benezia's dead. You got the cipher from Shiala. You fought Saren once. You met Sovereign. At most, two of your squadmates are dead. You basically went through the entire game only to get Liara and for her to be like "I've studied Protheans for years but the mystery of why they disappeared still eludes me" Well alright who volunteers to recap the last 25 hours of the game to her
