This Is a series of 5 posts showing Muriel's (My Animal Hospital oc) arrival at the strangest hospital in town for his internship, hope you enjoy!
Duke Peterson - Psychologist
The bunny started to walk once Muriel reached him, the two remained quiet until Duke asked
Duke: ..Is everything ok? I saw them giving you an eye drop, are you well?
Muriel: Umm yes, it was just an accident..!
Muriel quickly placed the eye drops in his pocket, the older man seemed to doubt his awnser for a moment but he just nodded quitely and guided the bat to a door at the end of the hallway
They were expecting the hospital to be quite big, of course but the path to the doctors office was.. intimidating, to say the least
"why does a hospital needs such bridges straight out of a sci-fi movie??" They thought as they tried to see any sign of ground underneath the brigdes, they didn't
The psychologist noticed the lack of steps behind him, turning towards the bat, he let out a quiet chuckle at the slight
Duke: Don't worry, I promise you there's a reason for this extravagant desing
Muriel mumbled as they retracted their hand from the rail, once again standing beside the older man, who continued to try and confort the younger one
Duke: It's alright, you're new and curious, everything will be awnsered eventualy but right now, we have more important things to do, understood?
The bat nodded quitely, maybe the bunny was right, the hospital's structure was not that much of a focus right now.. it still send a shiver down his spine, tho
Arriving at the end of the crossroads, Duke opened the door slightly and took a peek inside, he held the door slightly open before turning towards Muriel
Duke: ..he's gonna have you now
Muriel: alright.. thank you and- umm sorry for the trouble
The bat walked closer to the door and was ready to walk in until Duke spoke again
Duke: one more thing, i heard you're new in town and I know how hard it must be, so if you need anything or just somebody to talk to, i'm right here
Being honest, that amount of kindness pretty much surprised the bat, they nodded slightly at the other
Muriel: ..thank you, that's quite nice to hear
Duke: I like to take care of my co-workers, and you're no different, kid
The bunny smiled as he opened the door for Muriel, who reciprocated the kind smile before walking inside
*the Doctor Harlow's office was made in bloxburg days before the 08/08/26 update
A quite small but full office was on the other side of the door, the figure of a doctor looking down at some papers on a folder caught his eye, Harlow's ear flapped at the noise of the door closing before he looked up
Dr. Harlow: oh, Bennet! Glad you managed to make it! Come on, take a seat
Muriel froze, getting a little nervous before he walked closer to the desk and taking the seat at the chair facing the doctor
Dr. Harlow: congratulations on passing the application, by the way, I'll be your supervisor during the period of your internship
Muriel: yes, they did write me about you, It's a plesure to meet you..
Dr. Harlow: I can say the same! So, I wanted to talk to you to give you a small heads up on what awaits you in here, starting with a small explanation...
For the next few minutes after that, the deer and the bat talked in hopes to organize time, some extra documents and any contract missunderstanding that may have happend, thankfully, everything seemed to be in check
Harlow closed the folder on his table with a satisfied sigh
Dr. Harlow: ..and that seems to be it, at last we're done with your registring
Muriel: glad It wasn't much trouble to work on..!
Dr. Harlow: Indeed! Although, I apologize for not being able to acompany you today..
Muriel shook his head slightly as he reasured the older man
Muriel: I understand your absence, sir, there's no need to apologize..!
The doctor nodded, smiling with his eyes as he stood up from his chair
Dr. Harlow: And I apreciate that very much, now since we are done with everything, may we?
The doctor stood up from his chair and gestured for Muriel to follow him to the door, the bat gave one last glance at the clock before following Harlow, they were really gonna be the only one, huh?
Being honest, Muriel was a little nervous about not working directly with their supervisor and being the only Intern here, no less! At least they weren't being left aside to wait in a chair..!
Well whatever, It's just an internship, It can't hurt them!
