It’s something I have to do because I want better for myself. I want better people around me. I want people who are going to care for me. People I can trust. People that actually respect me. People who won’t make me look foolish. People who won’t make me regret giving them time time. People who deserve to be around my energy and recieve my love. And that’s in any relationship, friend, familial, romantic.

In saying that, personally for me, I learning that because I’ve forgiven someone doesn’t mean I have to allow that person in my life. Forgiveness isnt something you do for the other persons peace of mind, it’s done for yours. So you move on from the situation. And sometimes moving on includes severing ties. There’s a point where you have to respect yourself enough to walk away from someone who doesn’t respect you. (which is something that’s hard for me to do).

I mean hindsight is 20/20. There’s always stuff I could’ve done differently. Things I shouldn’t have done. People I shouldn’t have let it. Aspects of my life I could’ve put more effort into. But at the end of the day all of choices I’ve made, all my of the things I’ve gotten myself into, have led me to be the person I am today. I’m finally coming to a good peace with who I am. And I try to be the best person I can be in other people’s life.
