Sentence Prompt #2
Youβre not allowed to die
Bliss. Life was complete and utter bliss. Bliss because of him. He was beautiful in the way that a sunset is. He was warm and soft however, he was striking. His hair waved like the ocean, contrasting against his freckled skin. His eyes, draped in long eyelashes, were the shade of honey flowing on honey, they were the colour of the soil after a downpour. Big, beautiful brown eyes. Those eyes that caught me and kept me wrapped in them forever. His smile that shown will jokes and pride. I watched him, studying him. He wasnβt perfect, no-but in that way he was beautiful. He was my life, my everything, my bliss. Traveling is what had brought us together, so we continued. When I first saw him, I was in Italy. We locked eyes and he had approached me with timidness, something I realized was normally not in his vocabulary. βMay I sit?β Those three words, his voice like velvet, were all it took to drag me in. The rest was a blur, a big fantastical blur. Now, we were speeding down a road in a light blue car. My hand wrapped in his, my dark chocolate skin contrasting against the fairness of his own. Hair, blowing back and eyes, windblown. The ocean, the only sound as we drove along the coast. Then he turns and we lock eyes. βI love you.β βI love you more.β My voice, teasing. I was transfixed in him before I heard a loud car horn. I swivel my head back to the road in front of us, just as the other car collides into ours. The strap against my chest locking, keeping me in my seat. I blink a few times, trying to catch my bearings. I look at the other car, a man in the driverβs seat. He was not looking at me though, he was looking just to my left. Following his eyes I twist that way. βNo!β The word rips from my mouth and I throw myself over him. The crown of his head was laced with cuts, bruises, and broken glass. The windshield of the car, dripping with his blood and shattered. βNo, no, no, no!β Sobs making my entire body quake. βYou canβt! Youβre not allowed to die! No!β My bliss, stolen from me in only a matter of a few moments. Sadness turned to anger. I swung open my car door and the man in the other car got out. I balled my fists and hit him with all my strength. This man took my happiness, my heaven on earth. My fists pounded against his chest. βYou killed him! You took him! You shouldβve died! You insufferable, inhuman man!β My voice raw and shaking. I gave him a final punch and sank to the ground. My head in my hands, my knees to my chest. The ocean wasnβt heard anymore. My sobs and screams were the only sound that could be heard for miles.
