Havisham House Makeover

A random modern makeover of one of the houses in Windenburg. It’s a one bedroom home which, in hindsight, could be made into a two bedroom home if you convert the upstairs bath to a second bedroom! It’s a really airy home perfect to host summer hangouts in. I especially enjoyed decorating the upstairs bedroom and living room. 😊

Finally had a chance to put a community gardens lot inside the Hawthorn square quarter. The lot itself is very draft yet, but atleast it’s something!

The lot is completely surrounded by neighborhood decorations and blends with environment quite good. I know that it is impossible to grow plants and veggies on community lots, but I still hope to use it in some way. I actually never had a chance for a proper gardening in TS2 yet (i’m too addicted to ‘hood mode, yep). Google tells me that if a community lot is owned by a sim, it is possible to grow veggies on it, so that might work. Like as if someone would be a chairman of the community garden trust or something like that, lol.

Now I need to plop down some invisible fences to prevent sims from walking through walls. Placing ‘off-grid’ lots is so much fun! All the goofiness of sims walking through bushes and stuff with their poker faces, taxis and cars driving off into walls.

I’ve also made a sequence of pics while placing and moving the lot, so I might show how this lot was placed in the next post.

Okay guys, I’ve decided to open another category of things I’ll be sharing. It’ll be some random converted (and created) stuff in ‘as is’ condition. Usually, I do not share content that is not at least somehow optimized and improved. But years go by and I still don’t have enough time to create everything I want, or refurbish and improve conversions to the level I think they should be at. So once in a while I stalk for third party game models that I could use in my game as a hood deco. I’ve discovered, that Farm sim‘13 is a good source of such content, so I’ve converted some. I do not take any credit for these conversions, since I’m not an author, though I often translate any text on the textures to simlish and edit them if the quality is too poor. I also add ground shadows most of the time, because this way it looks better. So, enough words, let me just share the link to the first bunch of those conversions. This is really quite random rural oriented stuff I like to use in decorating my hoods.

To install, just put all the files into your ‘Downloads’ folder. Available under ‘Misc’, except for playground, railway piece, diesel car and scrapped machinery – they’re under ‘Landmark’ Important: Clotheslines are repositoried (master ones are straight white and colored). So just keep them all together when in doubt. Basically, these are highpoly but that’s okay if you don’t want to have dozen scrapped harvesters around your hood.
