What if you found out you were a control freak...?
I found another problem that I have become aware of and it is something that I am aware of and need to start working on pronto if I don’t want anything bad to happen with relationships. So I just came to a realization that I am a bit of a control freak. Well.. I kind of knew that I was for a while but it is something that is hard to admit. Here is what I found online about control freaks, and why do they call it that.
You want things to be predictable and stick to a routine. Yes
You feel anxious, stressed, and upset when things don’t go the way you want or expect. No
You’re highly organized and like systems. Usually, but rather I make certain piles when I am doing something and if you mess with my pile then I get confused.
You’re a perfectionist. I used to be a lot worse, not as bad.
You want things done a specific way. YES
You get stuck in all-or-nothing thinking; you only see one right way to do something or one way to be successful. Yes, but I have been trying to be better about this.
You catastrophize or imagine the worst will happen if things don’t go the way you want/expect. I definitely worry but not as much as my husband.
You have extremely high standards for yourself and others. ....
You can be demanding and critical. Usually with the husband
You’d rather do it yourself than delegate. It usually doesn’t happen in a timely manner and so I would rather do it myself. This was really difficult when we were planning our wedding.
People often let you down. No
You give unsolicited advice because you think you know what others should do. Nope
You have trouble relaxing. Depends on my anxiety
You might be described as Type-A, tightly wound, or anxious. I do have anxiety but I don’t think it is Type-A
You hate change. I actually like change
