Seven weeks of knitting. And an additional three weeks of crochet, sewing and embroidery.
Pattern is Isabelle by wiola Knits. A well written and surprisingly easy pattern, I enjoyed it!
Yarn is various Scandinavian wool and mohair (the white one) from my stash.
An c.1000-1200 CE example of Egyptian cotton knitted socks.
I made a chart for it!
I realised while making it that the pattern on the sock isn't always symmetrical or identical, so I had to be a little creative. But I managed to get it pretty close, I think!
Pick one
Lace
Cables
Colorwork
If anyone is looking for a delightfully squishy turtle neck, I highly recommend the Brioche Bliss Sweater by Rust Knitwear or Simone Ryan! I knit it in Lanagrossa Cool Wool Lace (held double) and Setasuri and it’s a yarny dream

Hi I need some honest opinions: is the chart I made based on that picture nice enough to invest what will undoubtedly be a shit ton of money and time into this project? It would be a sweater with this on the front panel and some writing on the back (have not yet made that chart)
Is this worth my time and money?
Yes
No
Idk it depends (say in tags)
Thanks for all the votes!! I think I’ll park this idea for now and I might revisit it with an early print woodcut image in a few months, that should be easier to chart.

Lowkey in love with this cable pattern so I made another pair with it
Pattern: heavily modified Moss Socks by Iina Kiikeri
Yarn: Hobbii Rainbow Sock Wool 4-ply
Ive just had this crazy idea for a Colorwork sweater and I know I’ll be thinking about it all day and boy I hope I’ll have the perseverance to actually do it
We have run into a Complication so now I have to Think About It

I knit a sweater in ten days 🙃 it’s the Sibling Sweater My Size by Laura Penrose in Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull and Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino and I l love it
I’m planning on knitting a garment that’s designed for 10-15cm of negative ease with about 8-9cm of positive ease to get the fit I want. Not sure if this is gonna be a disaster. I’ll keep you posted
The fit seems to be going to be good, but I had a very noticeable difference between my ribbing in the round and flat. I knit this pattern before and there was also a difference but not this noticeable. My ribbing gauge in the round is off by 2 stitches, so either I knit with a smaller needle in the round or I just knit the body flat. I think I’ll go with option 2 because then I’ll be sure to have the same gauge and I don’t mind the seaming that much
It’s done! I think it’s going to be a good fit but it’s blocking now so we’ll see once it’s dry how I feel
So this is the finished piece! I think it’s really cute and it fits the way I wanted to do 12/10 great project
Pattern is the Lost Tank by Friday Knits and yarn is Rauma Garn Petunia
