…does anyone possibly know of any good fix it fics for Noiz? I’ve grown very attached to him and his good end is kinda pissing me off sorry- it’s just like the opposite of what I’d like to see for a character arc from him? I mean I liked everything up UNTIL he moves back to his abusive parents and that’s framed as the “responsible” thing to do. It’s just the narrative of forgiving your abusers as the way to heal I don’t enjoy personally. Especially because it feels like Noiz couldn’t be what they wanted so they isolated and neglected him in response. And the good end is “now he CAN be what they want.” But he shouldn’t have to!! His parents don’t deserve to have that, Noiz should be able to learn to live in spite of them and make connections with others. Like I really like his relationship with Aoba! I mostly want to see Noiz learning to be in a relationship for the first time, maybe Aoba helping him to get along with others too. And Noiz learning how to be himself and still have his independance without fully shutting out others to do that. Anyway I also just feel very strongly about this because I related to Noiz’s character a lot since my parents also isolated me for most of my life, and I’m currently trying very hard to get out of that. Don’t wanna seem like I’m projecting too hard though? Like don’t get me wrong I don’t care if other people liked the ending, that’s awesome for you! I wish I could like it, I’m usually not a very negative person so I feel a little bad hating on things haha. But like I’m sure in the 15(?) years this game has existed other people have had similar feelings on it. So yeah give me fic recommendations if you have them! Or any thoughts you have about it too.

Also also I think flavor foleys new song streetcat reminds me of Noiz a lot :> I was just listening to it on loop thinking about him just now. The way that feeling pain is associated with freedom in the song is very Noiz imo! Like his physical numbness is a parallel to emotional numbness and a general disconnection from the world and other people. Which is why I do kinda like that he was cured in the end when he formed a connection with Aoba, despite random barely explained magic curing a disability for a good end not being a great trope generally. I think for Noiz though it fits pretty well with the metaphor of his condition in general so it doesn’t actually feel that out of place.
