mutantvaleska:
âOh,â She took a hesitant step back when the animal was offered to her. Not that she was scared of it, more-so herself. There was a certain fear of her own hands that had come with the discovery of her true power, and the small rabbit looked soâŚdelicate. She didnât trust herself to actually hold it. âAnother time.â She replied, pulling her hands further into the sleeves of her jacket protectively. âAre youââ you said read lips?â Valeska wasnât entirely sure how to broach the question.Â
"You're scared of your mutation." Myka pointed out gently, taking the bunny back into her own arms to kiss its head, then put him down. "That's okay." She had never been scared of hers, so she didn't understand the feeling, and she wasn't in any position to tell someone to feel otherwise. A lot of what some people could do could be terrifying  - not so much for those around them, but for the person, themselves. "Oh, yes. I'm deaf, but most of the time I can read lips. It's peaceful." She didn't want anyone to feel sorry for her, because she'd never choose to hear if she could help it. Maybe some would, but she wasn't one of them. âYour accent just reads differently.â
