he does it accidentally! he's closed in on one of afo's secret locations and just happens to find little toddler aoyama who's sitting alone, nervously waiting for afo to give him a quirk. and of course all might's like well i'm not leaving this kid alone.

only! he forgets to tell anyone that he's found a kid! everyone sees him with little aoyama riding on his shoulders and they're like yes this is a very all might thing to do and leaves it. all might doesn't realise he's kidnapped a toddler until he and aoyama are pondering what kind of takeout to get.

Mitsuki: Of course. We’ll be right outside if you need us, okay? *leaves*
