Four shifts, uncomfortable, as if caught in a lie.

Warriors can tell. He's been around enough men in his lifetime to recognize the expression, and it wasn't like Four was particularly difficult to read, even if the smithy prided himself on being "mysterious".

Like someone who posessed eternal youth, most of his emotions were worn on his sleeve.

"So I look like your father?" The words leave Warriors mouth smoothly, yet a heavy weight settles inside his gut.

"Not entirely," Four laughs bitterly, "Father has brown hair. Not to mention he has a beard and looks twice your age."

Warriors raises an eyebrow. "Then where'd you pull the association from?"

Four blinks once, as if considering. One of his hands moves up to start fiddling with the feathered earring he always wears, as he briefly bites his lip. Nervous tic.

“He's the captain of the knights." Four states.

"Oh."

"He also wears a bright and long scarf like you do."

"Huh." Warriors hums. "It's been a tradition that long?" Interesting. Surprisingly enough he hadn't thought about the customary uniform of the bygone past. Not like they had any time for that when traveling through multiple Eras, though it was interesting to know how far back the tradition went. "I suppose that explains your assosciation."

"Mm."

"You don't like your father then?" He asks, and Fours eyes widen.

"It's not that-" Four startles, "I don't hate him. He's a good man." Though it didn't seem like he was lying, he also wasn't being entirely honest with himself.

…Warriors couldn't really judge him for that, could he? "But you don't particularly like him either."

The smithys mouth presses into a thin line, and he starts bouncing his leg. Always in motion, always shaking something off, always ready to act. It's a rhythmic little tap tap tap. "I don't." He admits. "He's a stranger to me."

“I'm sorry." Warriors says, because he doesn't know what else to say. He doesn't have a father either, but he's not got much of a family in the first place.

"There's nothing to apologize for, especially not from you." Four cracks a smile. "I was uncomfortable the past few days. It's true. I dreamt about my father for the first time in a long time. I guess you really reminded me of him, for a moment." He stops, suddenly, and all his weight shifts forward as he leans over to look at Warriors. His mouth a gentle smile, his eyes bearing a small glimmer as they crinkle upward.

"Remembering my father helped me realize you're not the same at all." he laughs, "I suddenly felt so ridiculous for it."

"It is pretty ridiculous." Warriors agrees, both in the notion that he resembles Fours father, and that he resembles a father at all. "I'm glad you came to your senses. It was rather awkward to have you avoiding me."

"Yeah, yeah. But I'm thankful for you, captain."

"Shouldn't I be the one telling you that?"
