Impatient Allie is impatient! Another two-fer while I work my way through the pale pinks and fleshy tones. #TheCompleteSet numbers 16 and 17 here. 17 is actually the base here with 16 on the tips. 16 is @loreal in #MacaronNoisette and 17 is @essie in #Marabou. I'll be honest with y'all; neither of these polishes impresses me. Marabou is a nice color but takes 3+ coats to get a solid color, and Macaron Noisette is so transparent it almost doesn't exist. This set took far too long to do and doesn't even look the best. I may retire these polishes to the garbage if I need to make room... Oh well. People ask me a lot how I make my manicures last so long (up to three weeks, without much issue) without doing gel or shellac polish. There are a few things that help, but this is actually the biggest factor: properly cleaning your nails! Your skin and nails create a lot of natural oils and these oils are absolute anathema to nail polish. Putting on polish without a proper cleaning results in peeling, chipping and poor adhesion. I always wipe my nails down with alcohol before painting. I'm currently using Mylee Nail Prep, but any rubbing alcohol will do! Just a quick wipe is all you need, whether you have natural nails or gel/acrylic.
