“In my defense he was dead when I got here. Now grab his legs, we only have a few minutes to hide the body.”

Cindy wanted to be more annoyed with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, but she knew Bobbi didn’t personally organize Pleasant Hill, or even contribute to the group being sucked in, but it was still hard to not hold any resentment at all. “Hey, you said it, not me.” She grumbled, pausing to take a deep breath as she looked back up at Bobbi. “They’re lucky more people didn’t end up dying that day.”

“I wonder what other kind of reality versions of me exist.” Daisy commented curiously, pausing as she looked up at Bobbi and tilted her head. “The you from this reality is really cool, at least. She’s probably shacked up with Lance somewhere right now.” She smiled fondly at the memories of her old team, back before things went to shit. She missed her Bobbi of course, but it was nice to be forming a relationship with another one. Even if it was under less than ideal circumstances. She frowned as Bobbi continued to talk and shook her head softly. “I don’t blame you. I’m sure it saved them a lot of danger, you doing that. But it couldn’t have been easy.”

Cindy resisted the urge to tug down her mask and reveal her (new) face. It was all still very overwhelming and she didn’t know where to begin. “Almost overnight, actually.”

Cassie heard what Bobbi was asking her. She understood, but her brain wasn’t exactly letting her process it. The idea of possibly losing her dad, again… She couldn’t. She wouldn’t. “Is that possible? Has… has it been happening to a lot of people? He’s gonna be okay, right? I-I think he’s been fine.”

“Well I’m sorry. For being an asshole.” Daisy offered, a sheepish smile tugging the side of her lips as she rubbed her arm and nodded towards the door. “Can I come in?”

“Do you even hear yourself right now? An email chain? Really?”

“I’ve been arrested several times, Agent Morse. And as of recent I just escaped a supervillain hellhole that you helped put together. Typical that you already forgot.”

“That’s fair. I would be too after the mess S.H.I.E.L.D. made for themselves.” Medusa mused, smiling smugly at Bobbi as she listened to the agent before nodding her head slowly. “And what if I told you that we have a new Inhuman who has joined us who can do just that? Stop bullshit before it happens.”

“I’m just making sure you don’t forget how shitty it was.” Gabby shrugged, feeling like that was all she could do in this situation. She would be a lot more heated had Laura come out reality warped, but thankfully her sister seemed fine. “She has a way of bringing attention back onto herself.”

Clint simply deadpanned the blonde when she tried to say she was never tense, both of them knowing that was a flat out lie. But then she continued and the hypothetical sounded more like it. “I don’t know if there is getting out of it anymore, Bobbi. Just…. moving forward.” It was definitely a rough adjustment, but Clint was having a hard time even remembering what things were like before Pleasant Hill. Other than Natasha being pregnant, everything seemed in his mind the way things should be. “Dwelling on it isn’t going to change anything. I hate to say it, but I think all of this multiverse stuff is out of our paygrades.” 

“Well now I must know more. A time hole?”

“They asked me to assist on some research,” Jemma said. “Fitz might be joining, he’s still thinking about it. But honestly I don’t think I could have turned it down without regretting it one way or another.”

“I’m sure everyone will get over it eventually,” Cassie pointed out, frowning when she heard that S.H.I.E.L.D. was having a hard time moving on. She didn’t blame the public for being upset with the organization. Sure, they had done a lot of good, but Pleasant Hill was so far on the bad side of the spectrum that it was going to take some time to get past this. And an insane PR team. “He’s fine, I think. He said he has an interview with you guys coming up.. Should I be worried about that?”

“Partially? You were directly involved with the abduction of two mutants, one of them my sister, into some kind of psycho make-believe town.” Gabby pointed out, not wanting Bobbi to try and shift any of that responsibility before she paused and nodded at the next comment. “It’s gonna be a great time.”

“Is this the part where I can finally apologize to you for being an asshole recently? Because I’d love to do… that.”
