There's this mix of hurt, disbelief, and dry irony in Daniel's face. Armand catches it, answers with the tiniest smile at the corner of his mouth, and then they just... look at each other in silence.

You can practically hear that string stretched between them, still intact, but already beginning to fray. Because they both know that the eyes, the fangs, even the real name don't actually matter. Armand is still the same person, and Daniel has always wanted him.

Also... can we complain for a second - for a while, actually! - about how criminally little screen time this incredible pair gets? Because honestly, it shouldn't be this way. (And don't even get me started on Assad/Armand's screen time!)

I'm no expert, but I absolutely love catching and analyzing micro-expressions, almost like looking at them under a microscope. You can find so much in them: things that aren't just left unsaid, but are conveyed with a single glance.
