This is the most obvious and the one i was thinking about when i reblogged that. Sex pest. Its the thing that gets the most violent reaction out of him.

He actually has a second far more... accepted? one though, impotent, in all the meanings that has. He cant stand being helpless *gestures vaguely* if you're in TQI its the most obvious trait he has. When he fucks something up its usually because his horror of impotence spurred him into stupid fucking action. He Needs to change the situation, he Needs that change to be even a little bit good. He kind of really Really sucks at doing that *specifically* When its something his anxiety spurs though. You could set your watch by it. Locust feels impotent, minute later, he does something stupid. (learn how to fling himself with psionics and sprain his wrist, try to use ashen bait to distract his friend from suicide planning and make the whole situation worse for the others involved and then fed back into him, feeling completely and utterly helpless and going to fuck with marginally less helpless people just to feel like hes doing anything at all that could possibly help, like those five things all just happened 'today' for him) He finds himself vibrating, needing to Do something, he can't let situations lie and that's a pretty big problem. anyway back to the main one

Both of these could be things he's 'in denial' about to an extent. I think he knows and accepts that he's narratively and uh. reproductively? 'impotent' but it eats away at him. The big one though, he would be in denial about it if it were true. Not full on denial but the like... where you accept that something is almost certainly true and you wear it like a yolk around your neck and you just try to live normally and then crash out when its brought back to your attention because fuck man you really are [bad thing that you see as inextricably part of you].

Locust is the kind of autistic where he struggles with nuance, its one of the reasons hes so *gestures vaguely* racist. The propaganda that seeps off of Tirent the Skeptiic's very being and leeches into his surroundings has pretty fertile soil in the little bug brain of Locust and his horrible capacity for nuance.

This means if he has a category for something, then that first impression colors all of his subsequent ones, and he has a category for sex pest which is calibrated to the worst absolute possible type. The place where this comes up in roleplay is in his interactions with Monarch, when they met Monarch came across as a pretentious dickbag with an ego, something i feel is a pretty reasonable way to describe him, though i dont think the ego is genuine fully, at the very most its fragile, at the very least its totally incidental to his demeanor. But Locust wanted to bring him down a peg, as he usually does. My 'Rage' seeping into his classpecting i fear. So he picked a part of his appearance and mocked it, connected horns = handle = bucket handle = bucket head -> emoji of monarch's bucketsona. Monarch later referred to the bucket emoji as sexual harassment, which yeah it is, id say. It's certainly harassment of a sexual topic. Locust then slotted himself into the category which contains uh. The worst people he has ever met. because bugs nuance is dead I guess.

Monarch and Locust are just absolutely awful when mixed together by the way. It's something about Monarch's tendency to take things as sexual or romantic when in reference to himself and Locust's autism and sex repulsion that escalates into a series of ping pong style bickering which. god i hate them i should put them in blenders ghsgh

Also sorry ik this post is about locust but I have to talk abt monarch when he's mentioned bc I have no other chance he makes me crazy...

About that second to last paragraph, Monarch is also sort of repulsed to sexual topics (but only in relation to himself really, when he's not the one initiating. The joking attitude of it also pisses him off more to a considerable degree), and takes romantic/sexual things to be in reference to himself (badly) because that's pretty much just what he's been trained to do in the chatroom so he just assumes people are about to harass him

I don't know if anyone remembers, but around 5 months ago, when monarch told locust to stop sexually harassing him, Monarch had Literally no one in the crew that liked him, and everyone was constantly picking on him, frequently about his horns/buckets and other sexual things. Which would be annoying to hear the first 3 times, but when everyone is constantly repeating it it really did just come off to him as everyone trying to demean him in a particularly gross way. And if there's anything Monarch hates in life it's people demeaning him.

It wasnt limited to just jokes either, like, Abicer went full sicko mode once and told Monarch his corpse would be raped by his seadweller boyfriend- like There was Actual casteism and constant sexual harassment- people (locust included) were constantly calling him a "fishtoy" and whore. Which is obviously super goddamn insulting to his selfworth and ego- Sexual stuff wasnt even planned for Monarchs character, it just came randomly and stayed as a byproduct of him having selfworth and wanting respect, and everyone constantly using that specifically as a way to make him... Not have selfworth or think he's worthy of respect.

So really the fact its Sexual isnt the inherent problem- the inherent problem is his blood starts to boil whenever people dont take him seriously/refuse to listen to him/demean him in any way in reference to things he has no control over. It just so happens people latched onto the sexual stuff as a way to get to him

I cant really remember but. i think this all started because of people figuring out that he's cheating on his girl matesprit with Junior who's a seadweller and then started using that as a way to demean him for his caste position... because of course everything in tqi goes back to fucking casteism. Theyre a goddamn unintentional case study
