“They’ve had to kick a few asses before. Mostly a bunch of homeless old people who thought that it was kill or be killed on the streets.” To answer Raze’s question, they were anything but intangible. Not unbeatable, and a fraction of the pain transferred over to him, but the positives outweighed the negatives.
“Now, if you don’t mind me asking a question…” He paused, taking a seat and waiting for a response.
“Well, that’s Madripoor,” Raze laughed quietly. Either the kid ran into homeless people either, or he grew up in LowTown.
He did get the idea that the guards were tangible - it’s difficult to ‘kick ass’ without a real leg.
“Absolutely,” he nodded, and leaned back on the edge of his desk.
“Why the hell am I back here? I have business I have to conduct in New York, and Madripoor is long behind me these days.”
It hurt, to be reminded of his parents’ corpses, shriveled up beyond recognition by Terrigen.
His skin crawled with the memories, as his guards began to flicker.
