If it was any consolation, they locked him in the basement for his safety. Those few hours he spent too scared to see if his parents had made it probably saved his life. Of course, there was now the matter of retribution. Someone was responsible for almost committing genocide, and they had to pay for it. That, and placing Mutants where they belonged; with the humans.
“Thanks. Not a lot of people in Madripoor gave a damn about it. Another day, y’know? And I came here for one simple reason; to watch Avengers Tower Burn, and to put Black Bolt’s head on a pike.”
There was a lot of anger there. Anger she could understand. But she couldn’t fully condone it either. After all violence had it’s place, but things were finally peaceful, or as peaceful as their turbulent world ever got at the least.
“I can’t blame you for wanting those things. The Avengers and the Inhumans both let our kind down. I don’t think burning their tower will solve things. As for Black Bolt, I’ll leave that be. I don’t want to fight you, and I certainly won’t tell you that your feelings aren’t justified. Avengers have given me trouble in the past for being a solo mutant hero. Called me an irresponsible vigilante, and that’s one of the kinder things. A lot of them don’t trust or respect our people and that needs to change. We have every right to exist as any human, inhuman, or any species has.”
