Sometimes my thoughts race. Sometimes Iâm filled with such dread and anger that it bubbles out of me in viscous droves. Sometimes thereâs this need clawing at the base of my neck that I canât identify, like an itch that needs to be scratched but I have no idea where to dig my nails in. I want to raise welts on skin like a painter would push pigment on canvas. I want to see crimson seeping and staining and spattering on pavement in fat red polkadots. I want to hear the wails of anyone and anything but the shriveling husk of my own heart. There are those who use pain as a weapon, but I want to use it as an instrument.
