The way Peter did all that because he knows Rich is in trouble and way over his head and Rich is still sore about Peter’s betrayal from the events in Imperial and still asks Peter why he cares about what’s happening to him.

And Peter is almost offended about that question and has to remind him why he’s doing it.

Anyway I am so livid that McKay didn’t get to write Imperial and that Marvel Editorial sucks.

Peter Quill, Richard Rider and Gamora:

“richard, peter and gamora met during a space war where the mightiest galactic heroes came together. during this, rich and gamora have a casual sex thing while him and peter become best friends (read annihilation 2006). peter and gamora form part of the original guardians of the galaxy team (spoilers: peter mind controls her and everyone in the team to join bc he's messed up) (read gotg 2008) while rich fucks off to do his own thing bc he feels the need to save the whole universe by himself. he's p normal as u can tell. space things happen and rich and peter end up sacrificing themselves to stop the big bad thanos and everyone mourns them until mcu synergy brings back the guardians in 2013 with peter and gamora back on the team, rich nowhere to be found. gamora ties down peter for him to tell her where rich is. after much pressure he finally breaks and says he got left behind and the last thing he said confessed his love for gamora. it isn't until years later that rich comes back from what is now known as the "cancerverse" (picture stranger things upside down, our world but everything is soo evil and soo fucked up) where he has been basically suffering non-stop for years with no way out. gamora gets mad that he came back and didn't tell her. they go on a date (read nova 2017). peter gets mad that he came back and didn't tell him. they all make up and some other shit happens like gamora killing peter xoxo but he comes back xoxo. they also end up together by the end. shit gets REALLLL in THEEE run of all time guardians of the galaxy 2020 by one al ewing. i'll leave some stuff unspoiled bc it's a trip and a half. long story shortish is that peter and gamora are together living a white picket fence type life but in space. except someone i mean something is missing. enter richard rider yes his name is a dick joke and cue death, love confessions and saving the world I COULD GO ON dm me if u dont care abt spoilers but DO READ IT PLEASE”
