He arched an eyebrow in return, smiling that typical charming Archibald smile. If he'd paused to think about it, he would have felt a little bad. In part, Nate had asked her because she was the bartender. Because even he could tell at a glance that her clothes weren't designer, even if she looked better in that dress than most girls looked in Chanel. He didn't care about that superficial shit--in the way it was easy not to care when he'd always had access to it--but he knew Blair would. If there was anyone in the room it would burn her to see him flirting with, it was the help.

But that was more critical thinking than Nate usually put into things. The truth was that she was pretty, and he was feeling petty enough after watching Blair try to rub his face in her new toy all night to want to get back at her, as long as he got to have fun at the same time. Doing shots with the gorgeous bartender would check both boxes.

"It's a deal. I'll even pay for your Uber home, in case I'm making you miss your ride." He gave a warm chuckle, offering a hand. "I'm Nate."

Genevieve had dated a charmer before -- and everything about this guy practically oozed charming -- and oozed rich had-everything-handed-to-me. She was there to serve drinks, and she tried so hard to be as professional as possible -- but some of the people here were really pushing the buttons on how professional Viv could be, and they didn't even have to say anything. But she swore to her brother that she would behave, and that she would make him and his bar look good.

Dark, doe eyes flicked down to his hand as he offered it -- narrowing slightly before she took his hand and gave it a firm shake. "Viv. Genevieve, technically, but call me Viv." She pulled her hands away, looking away from him as so her eyes could scan the area -- her eyebrow arching as her eyes met another pair of brown who were glaring daggers at the two of them. She was the one who was causing most of the trouble with her staff. "It seems you and I might have a common enemy," she turned to look at him, leaning against the bar and purposefully placing a hand on his bicep and leaning in as if they were whispering flirtatious secrets, "What's the plan?"

It rained nine months of the year in Seattle. Having lived there all her life, aside from a few brief years in California for college, Tana was familiar with this, but it figured it was the one day she'd forgotten her umbrella. She could swear the sun had been shining that morning when she left, but now the sky was an ominous gray, threatening to pour at any minute.

She was eyeing the sky and contemplating the distance from the doorway of the coffee shop to the nearest subway station and decided to risk it. No sooner had she dashed outside, of course, than the sky opened up. Within seconds she was soaked through. She ducked under the overhang of a closed shop, glancing down at herself. Her denim jacket was shades darker from the rain, and water dripped from the hem of her dress and the ends of her long red hair. Drowned rat chic.

Until she wasn't paying attention and fully ran into someone. That's when something as simple as running in the rain could cause her trouble.

"Oh shit! Sorry!" The tall brunette, soaking wet from head to toe. Her clothes were soaked through -- but the smile on her lips didn't falter, despite for a slight grimace. Thin fingers grab onto the girls shoulders and pulls her back under what little shelter the shop was offering. "I've been told I should pay more attention to where I'm going -- I didn't see you there, sorry." Despite the clouds and what gloominess the rain could bring, Viv's smile was wide as she looked at the other girl. "I'm Viv. Well, technically Genevieve but that's a boring old person name, so I just go by Viv."
