Thinking about little!lottie's connotations with the word help. As a kid her parents saying she "needed help" or was going to go away to "get help" meant the mental hospitals, the painful 'treatments' and cruel faces and looks of disgusted pity. So when a cg, maybe Tai or Akilah, mentions getting Van help for her speech, she panics. She has to go grab a baby Van and quickly hide her in her room, climbing into her closet with her with a flashlight and hunkering down there for what feels like hours all in order to shield her from the pain she thinks is coming.
Meanwhile everyone is panicking because they can't find Van, and how could a little baby crawl away so fast without anyone noticing? And it's not until someone realizes Lottie is missing too that they go and check her room, and after seeing the flashlight under the bottom of the door they find the two of them huddled inside, Van obliviously chewing on Lottieβs shirt while Lottie scrambles to hide her from their view, a look of fear plastered on her face.
And it takes a lot of coaxing and questions before Lotfie says something about them "taking Van away" that they understand and have to quickly explain that "help" just meant a special therapist that would help her with her speech like the one Jackie goes to for eating.
And although Lottie is fine with that, once she realizes it'll actually be of help, she still insists on accompanying her to the therapist every week, no matter how big or small either of them is, just to make sure she's okay.
Hey i saw your post about wanting more soft/silly mari-centric fics: do you have any ideas or any hcs for that that you;d be willing to share pls??? Mari is my favourite :3
Hi anon, ty for asking and oh boy do I! Mari Ibarra my sweet pookie, here are some au hcs for my girl <3
ββββ α . Reg!Mari hcs β€· au timelineβ paddedreg
ΫΆΰ§ . I'm a firm believer that Mari's a horse girl, she has a collection of toy horse figures she keeps lined on her shelf and loves to rearrange them and tell anyone who will listen about their names/backstories (she's also a big fan of MLP, but her horses are her favs)
ΫΆΰ§ . She loves to draw/color and is very proud of her ability to blend colors together, which is a skill that is very much admired by the others, especially Van, who regularly brings her drawings and asks her to color them for her
ΫΆΰ§ . She loves to watch The Simpsons with Van & Mel, it's one of her favorite shows from before the crash as well so it's a big comfort
ΫΆΰ§ . She adores being able to help take care of the younger regressors, especially Lottie & Misty, who she loves to dress up and pamper
ΫΆΰ§ . She is usually the one to spearhead the asks to get fast food for dinner, as she much prefers it to meals that require a lot of cooking/preparing (wilderness related trauma)
ΫΆΰ§ . Is padded sometimes, usually when smaller but sometimes when she's big she needs it, she doesn't like talking about it much but if another regressor is having a hard time she'll remind them that she does it too and that it's perfectly fine (and she'll even offer to share her special horse printed ones if she knows it'll help)
ΫΆΰ§ . Isn't too big of a fan of complicated games with lots of rules/roles as she struggles to remember them and keep up, she much prefers games with just a few others at a time with simple premises
ΫΆΰ§ . Loves going to the movies even if she doesn't know the film being played, she just enjoys tagging along and getting to watch something with some of the others
ΫΆΰ§ . "Tai, can I have a snack?" "Ask Van first." "Van can I have a snack?" "Did you ask Tai?" "Yes." "What'd she say?" "...yes?"

they're both very quiet when they feel little, so they both have developed this little "language" that only the other understands. It consists of whines, mumbles and hand signs.
ohh, they're like the presidents of babble country, always always babbling to each other, it makes no sense to the others.
they're both very gentle with each other and usually gravitate towards the other due to that gentleness, especially when one of them is feeling littler than usual.
both super duper clingy when little, nat is also very protective of lottie and is often found holding her hand or sleeve if lottie is having a hard time with touch.
they don't play in the traditional sense, they just really like being together, for example while eating, doing different activities under a shared blanket and such.
they both really admire each other and are often found in the other's clothes and accessories, leaving them looking like they live in the others closet.
this makes them both having quite different aesthetics makes this so much more fun! lottie absolutely adores nats rings even if she doesn't wear them when little.
nats called a bunch of her dinosaur figurines after people she loves, with lottie it's no different.
they love music! that's their own special activity they've made up "for only them" to do, Nat has a bunch of music and Van usually turns her cd up for them both, this could entertain them forever. (don't u dare tell them other people also listen to music as a bonding activity/nsrs)
nat is the only one that is allowed to curl up and cuddle with lotties special blanket, she usually never lets anyone touch it, but nats an exception.
they love having sleepovers, it makes them both so so so happy, they're both often found giggling late into the night.
if you're taking requests i'd love to see some cg jackie with little nat. i love their dynamic but a lot of people focus on cg nat with little jackieβ which is great! but i'd like to see how a reversal of roles would look like
Hi anon! Of course, I myself am a big believer in there needing to be more little!Nat stuff & I love the concept of cg!Jackie taking care of her, so here's a little fic! <33
ββββ " little helper! "
α . CG!Jackie β Reg!Nat β€· talk of food/eating habits β autistic!jackie & nat but it's not the focus/just hinted at :)
Jackieβs almost done cleaning the main room when Nat shuffles in from outside, she'd re-stcoked the shelf with books and relocated the plastic animals back to their tub when she catches the movement in the corner of her eye.
She straightens when she sees Nat hovering by the couch, flashing a warm smile towards her. "Hey kiddo." She greets as she stands, dropping the last of the pillows back onto the couch as she walks over to her.
"Done playing with Van?" She gets a short nod in response, and she tilts her head as she studies the girl fidgeting in front of her.
She'd been so excited earlier when Jackie had agreed to let the two bring some of their action figures outside to play Super Mega Fight vs. Mel & Shauna's dinosaurs, so her quietness paired with her blank expression causes some worry.
At first she thinks she maybe had an accident, but there are no signs of such, and if she had she would have surely been tearey eyed. And when her eyes glance over her knees and hands she sees no scraps, so a tumble seems unlikely as well. Which leaves her with one strong possibility.
"Feelin' small?" She softly asks, and Nat nods lightly, her sleeve drifting up towards her mouth. "That's okay, did you get a little overwhelmed?" Jackie questions, knowing that the roudy nature of the bigger kids could easily become too much to someone in a smaller headspace, especially with such a game as Super Mega Fight going on.
Nat nods, lightly shrugging as she scuffs her sneaker against the carpet. Jackie spares a glance at the clock on the wall, realizing she should probably get started on making lunches, a tedious task when she has to make so many sandwiches, all unique to the kiddo who will get it.
"Wanna help me make lunch?" She asks with a knowing smile, and Nat perks up at the mention of food. "Unch?" She asks excitedly, having found her voice at the mention of food.
Jackie nods, "Yeah. I could use some help picking out plates for everyone." In reality it's a pretty simple task, but she knows Nat will take the job seriously, wanting to pick on that's perfect for everyone. Plus, as much as she loves the kid, she does prefer making the sandwiches alone, having her own way of doing things.
Nat quickly nods at the offer, turning to run over to the kitchen excitedly, but Jakcie catches her, reminding her to wash her hands first.
She washes hers too before fetching the stack of sectioned kids plates from the cabinets, setting them down in front of Nat's spot she had settled into at the table, telling her that once they were done she could help make her own sandwich.
They work in content silence for a bit, Jackie carefully cutting crusts and double checking what to add onto each slice of bread to make sure everyone will end up happy, while Nat sorts through the plates, studying the designs and scooting them around with a serious look plastered on her face.
Eventually Jackie carries the sandwiches over, pausing to examine the variety of plates laid out around the table. "Wow Nat, good job!" She praises, and the dark haired girl beams at the compliment. "Which one of these is for Mel, hm?" She asks, and Nat scrambles from her chair, moving to point at one of the plates in the shape of a dinosaur.
They move around the table, Nat pointing to the plates she meticulously picked for her friends as Jackie adds the similarly crafted sandwiches to each.
Despite her being big, Nat had still picked out one of the sectioned plates for Jackie, something that deep down she appreciated the thought of, preferring to keep her foods separate at all times, she's touched that even while small Nat had remembered the small, personal detail.
It's a plain blue, and she sets her own sandwich onto the biggest section while Nat rocks on her heels beside her, patiently waiting. "Now," Jackie says as she turns to her, "what kind of sandwich does Nat want?" Nat follows her back over to the counter, pearing at the array of options laid out with squinted eyes.
She settles for a plain ham and cheese, and Jackie makes sure to cut it into triangles, knowing that's just how she likes it, before letting her place her pieces into the spots she feels like they should go on her plate.
She lets Nat pick her seat while she opens the pantry, pulling at the various chips and other sides for the littles to pick from once they come in.
Nat gets to pick hers first, and Jakcie makes sure to give her an extra cookie for her help so far, linking pinkies with her when she giggles at the secret treat before standing to go help Tai & Laura Lee herd all the kids inside.

I loved the misty fic omg. Would love more Misty and cg Nat. Mari and Shauna getting mad at her for playing βlining upβ aww.
Van would definitely make Mel play with Misty after that incident. Theyβd learn they like to play vet with each other since Misty likes to take care of things and Mel likes animals.
Misty helping Nat with baby Lottie. Baby Lottie liking to grab Mistyβs hair and touch her glasses. Misty looks at Nat sooo wide eyed with a giant smile on her face after this happens.
Nat having to go do chores around the house and leaving Misty to βbabysitβ Lottie. Misty taking her job very seriously and giving Lottie so much attention. Constantly giving her new toys to hold, always checking her diaper to make sure sheβs not wet, and hand feeding her baby puffs.

βMisty? You up here?β Natβs voice rang up the attic stairs, distracting Misty from the stuffed cat she was holding a stethoscope to. Nats head popped into Mistyβs bedroom door not a moment later, smiling at the sight of Misty and Mel sprawled over what appeared to be a complex animal surgery. Nat smiled a little at the sight, shaking her head with amusement at their antics. βI was about to get Lottie up from her nap if you felt like being my little helper this afternoon?β Mistyβs face immediately lit up with joy.
βCan I? Can I?β She asked, bouncing a little on her knees, and wiggling her fingers happily.
βOnly if Mel doesnβt mind you leaving the game?β Misty turned her head to Mel quickly, face filled with hope. Mel looked up from the stuffed elephant sheβd been cradling.
βOh- yeah, βcourse.β She shrugged. βI was wanβing to go help Bubby with the garden βfor it gets to dark anyway.β
With Melissa off to go find Van, Misty and Nat headed down to Lottieβs room.
Lottieβs bedroom was dark except the flower string lights hanging by her crib, even the curtains were drawn so tightly that not even a slither crept in. Her cassette player was whirring her lullaby tape soothingly from the corner of the room, filling the room with soft melodies. Lottie was awake, sitting up in her crib. It wasnβt hard at all to tell sheβd only just woken up - her pacifier was hanging off the collar of her onesie, her hair was tangled from sleep and her blankie was draped over her shoulder. βHi baby,β Nat cooed as she entered the room. Lottie hummed happily, reaching out to Nat. Misty followed close behind, aweing a little at Lottie. βMisty, do you think you can lower the bars for me?β Nat asked. Misty nodded eagerly and unlatched the clip so Nat could lift Lottie out of the bed. βGood work kiddo. Wanna grab the lights next?β
Lottie quickly wrapped herself around Nat, nuzzling her face into the older girlβs neck. Nat bounced Lottie a little as they crossed to the change table. She lay her down gently, happy when Lottie helped out by readjusting herself easily. Misty was right by her side then, fingers tapping on the side of the change table excitedly. Whilst Nat started changing Lottie out of her sleep onesie, Misty climbed up onto the little stool so she could look over Lottie.
Lottie beamed up at her, eyes wide and smiley as she reached upwards and her hands gently cupped Mistyβs face. Misty giggled a little at this, βsilly Lot,β she smiled. Lottie squeaked happily, wriggling a little until Nat placed a hand on her stomach to still her. Lottie then moved on to twirling Mistyβs curly hair around her finger before letting it spring back up. Mistyβs face lit up immediately, eyes widening as she looked up at Nat.
βMistyβs hair is so pretty, isnβt it, Lot?β Lottie nodded happily. As Nat finally managed to wriggle Lottie out of her onesie and moved onto changing her diaper, the smaller girl began whining in protest. She was quickly distracted however, by Misty blowing raspberries above her.
With Misty to help it wasnβt long at all until Lottie was clean and dressed in her pink plaid dress. βOk, snack time. Lot, are you walking?β Nat asked as she handed Lottie her blankie and helped her down from the change table. Lottie whined a little at this, face screwing up like she might start crying.
βIβll hold your hand, itβs ok Lottie,β Misty promised - offering a hand out to Lottie. She took it happily and Misty helped stop her from wobbling too much as they moved downstairs. Nat got them both settled on the couch, Lottie settling herself right next to Misty and reaching up to play with her hair again.
βIβm going to grab some puffs, can you watch her for me?β Misty nodded eagerly.
βI got her.β
When Nat returned with a bowl of banana star puffs for Lottie (and Misty), handed them to Misty who beamed at the responsibility. For a while Nat fed Lottie the puffs, supervising how Misty carefully held Lottie and tickled her to get her laughing whenever there wasnβt food in her mouth. βIβm going to go get the laundry folded, are you still ok with Lottie?β Nat asked - she wouldnβt usually put the responsibility on a little, but Misty seemed so honoured that she knew it didnβt feel like a chore to her.
When Nat left, Misty took her job very seriously, pulling Lottie fully onto her lap. She very carefully handed Lottie more puffs - making her show an empty mouth before being allowed another one to stop her storing food in her cheeks as Lottie seemed to find very funny. She checked Lottieβs diaper quickly, because thatβs what Nat would normally do after snack time. Misty then decided Lottie looked bored, she reached for a little plastic red and blue rattle on the coffee table and shook it a little, making Lottie squeal with excitement. Lottie reached for the toy, taking it into her own hands and rattling it happily. They played with a rattle for a while, Lottie giggling as Misty encouraged her playing. When Nat returned, a little nervous after leaving them longer than sheβd intended, she found them both happily curled on the couch, Lottie prodding at Mistyβs glasses, while the older girl poked her tongue out to encourage the girl into further laughter.
ΫΆΰ§ . The brothers ever! As stated before they both often struggle with gender euphoria/dysphoria as they're both often assumed as only wanting certain things (fem for Jackie & masc for Mel), thus they often end up sharing/trading with one another to get their desired thing!
π― . Although both of them aren't very good at speaking up for themselves, they both will most definetly speak up for each other! Jackie especially will call it out if the others don't ask for Mel's opinion on things (ex. the movie for movie night)
ΫΆΰ§ . Sometimes Jackie will throw a fit if someone describes something she likes/wants as being "for boys/girls" because to her it's not about that, it's just "for Jackie". Mel is the only one who can really calm her down during these moments and is really good at describing things as being "so Jackie" that of course it makes sense that she gets it!
π― . Their favorite things to play together are dinosaurs and dog pack. Dinosaurs is for inside and dog pack is an outside game, sometimes they can rope Misty & Nat into playing dog pack with them if they try hard enough, but dinosaurs is usually just a Them game
ΫΆΰ§ . Jackie loves getting to do Mel's hair and although she isn't allowed to do braids (That's a Mari thing), she still loves to brush it! Mel really likes helping Jackie put together more boyish outfits and if feeling confident will ask Nat or Van for help figuring out what looks right!
π― . Jackie's definetly gone through a phase where she too wanted A Hat to wear like Mel, it was an old baseball cap Van dug out of a closet and she wore it everywhere, including in the bath and with outfits it definetly clashed with, she still has it hanging on her bed post and will still occasionally wear it
ΫΆΰ§ . They love making pillow forts and watching movies together in them, their favorite movies being The Land Before Time & The Parent Trap, usually their forts are exclusive but if a cg asks them to let an upset little in they will make an exception
ββββ ΫΆΰ§ . It Takes A Village Masterpost β€· an agere, post-crash yj au. Inspired by the amazingly written & thought out aus by @cryingatwindermerepeaks, @caninereg & others!
ΫΆΰ§ . requests, thoughts, ideas, etc. always welcome!

The Ways of Music - Little!Nat, Cg!Lottie
Summary: Mari wants to listen to music with Nat, but Nat's taking a nap and Lottie's not sure how to work Nat's record player anyway. Luckily, Misty's got a stereo and a case of CDs for them to work with once Nat's up from her nap.
Ft. Nat, Lottie, Mari, Misty
More notes at end
"Woah, slow down, speed racer," Lottie exclaims, reaching out to catch Mari around the waist before she can barrel past her to Nat's room. She's just managed to get Nat to doze off for a nap and if her hunch is correct, Mari is ready to barge into the room at full speed.
"Lemme go," Mari grunts, trying to wiggle out of Lottie's hold. She plants her hands on her wrists and pushes, making Lottie wince.
"Hey, Mar," she says firmly, trying to catch Mari's eyes. "Look at me."
Mari stops struggling long enough to glance over, lips turned down in a fierce pout.
"Nat's sleeping, honey," Lottie continues. "I don't want you running in there and waking her up."
The girl goes lax in her hold, twisting so she can hold Lottie's shoulders, looking up at her with a furrowed brow.
"She's sleepin'?"
"Yes," Lottie nods, "and we don't want to wake the baby, do we?"
Mari shakes her head urgently. She pauses for a long moment, emotions warring on her face as she chews on her lip.
"I wanted to have music time with Nat," she admits, sounding disappointed. "She said we could."
Lottie hums, gently nudging Mari to walk down the hallway with her so they weren't have their conversation directly outside Nat's room.
"I'm sure she'd be happy to do music time with you when she's feeling a little older," she tries to reason.
'I wanted it today," Mari retorts stubbornly. She pulls away from Lottie to march into her own room. Lottie trails behind her, leaning on the doorframe as she watches Mari dig through a pile of things on her beanbag chair. After a moment, she unearths what she had been searching for and straightens, turning to display it proudly to Lottie. It's a flat parcel, clumsily wrapped in construction paper that Mari had obviously doodled all over in decoration, complete with a card taped to the front that read To Nat.
"Aw, Mar," Lottie coos. "You got Nat a gift?"
Mari nods emphatically. She's holding the parcel delicately, like she's concerned it'll fall apart at any second.
"I picked a record for us," she explains softly. "'Cause Nat took me to the doctor and made sure I didn't cry."
"That's so sweet of you, honey," Lottie murmurs. "Nat's going to be really happy about that."
Mari flushes, ducking her head.
"I just wanted to give it today," she says, turning to place the gift gently on her bedside table. She sounds incredibly put-out and it makes Lottie's heart pang a little.
"Tell you what, Mar," Lottie offers, "why don't you help me out with Nat today? That way you can still spend some time with her."
Mari perks up a bit, stepping closer.
"Can we still listen to music?"
Lottie turns the request over in her head a few times.
"We'll have to see," she finally decides. She isn't exactly sure how to work Nat's record playerβnot that it looks particularly complicated, but her music collection is one of Nat's most treasured things and she doesn't want to mess with it without her express permission.
"I can ask Misty to do it for us," Mari tries, nodding. "She knows how and she's always super careful with it and Nat said she's allowed."
"Is Misty home today?" Lottie asks.
Mari shrugs. "Think so. I dunno."
"We'll have to see, then," she repeats, holding an arm out for Mari. "Let's go have a snack while we wait for Nat to wake up, okay?"
...
Mari's a whirling ball of energy until Lottie decides Nat's probably been asleep for long enough. She calms some as they head upstairs, but Lottie still makes her wait outside the door while she wakes Nat so that they don't overwhelm her right out of her sleep.
Nat's balled up in one corner of her bed, back pressed against the wall and Lottie sits on the edge of the mattress, placing a gentle hand on Nat's calf.
She starts talking, quietly at first and gradually rising to her normal tone as she rambles about nothing, waiting for Nat to recognize her voice. When the girl shifts, face scrunching as she starts to wake up, Lottie moves her hand up to her back, rubbing in wide circles.
"Hey, sleepyhead," she greets when Nat's eyes finally land on her. "Good nap?"
She doesn't expect a reply, reaching forward to help guide Nat upright. Her face is still sleep-scrunched adorably and she waits for Nat to get her bearings a little more, letting her lean heavily against her side, before she beckons Mari into the room.
"Hi, Nat," Mari murmurs, movements much more contained than before as she crouches by the bed. Nat's mouth curves into a small smile and Mari looks up at Lottie with unbridled excitement.
"Someone's happy to see you," Lottie says, unable to keep her own smile from spreading across her face.
"It's 'cause I'm your favorite, huh, Nat?" Mari asks, reaching up to the tip of Nat's nose gently. Nat makes a small sound as her face contorts and Mari shrugs. "That was probably a yes."
"Maybe," Lottie chuckles. "But I'll bet Nat doesn't have favorites."
Nat's head falls against her shoulder and she raises a brow at Mari.
"See? She agrees with me."
"That doesn't mean anything," Mari groans, but she's smiling, offering up a hand for Nat to grasp at.
They sit quietly for a while before Mari starts to get restless and Lottie realizes she should probably check if Nat needs changed.
"Why don't you go find Misty and ask her your question? We'll meet you," she instructs, relieved when Mari obeys without complaint.
Nat's dry, which adds a pit stop to their trip down to the kitchen for some milk, because Lottie's not actually sure if Nat had had anything yet that day. By the time she's gotten everything sorted, she realizes she has no idea where Misty and Mari are.
"Where do you think, hm?" She asks Nat, giving her a little bounce. Her arms are getting a little tired, but Nat's holding onto her tightly enough that she's not sure she'd let her go if she tried, so she ignores it. "Let's try the study. Misty's got that exam coming up, so I'll bet she's doing work."
Her hunch turns out to be correct and she can hear their voices floating down the hallway before she sees them and Nat wiggles excitedly in her arms.
As she enters the study, she sees Mari leaning over Misty's shoulder, peering at the huge textbook she has open on the desk in front of her.
"βquite simple, actually, but it's not the prettiest thing in the world and I'm not entirely sure you should be looking at this, now that I think of it," Misty is saying. She gently nudges Mari back, flipping the textbook shut and Lottie opts not to question whatever it is that they'd been looking at. "Oh, hey, Lottie. Hi, Nat."
Her voice gets much softer over the second greeting and Lottie can't hold back a snort.
"Someone's got favorites."
"Yep," Misty chirps, standing up from her chair. Lottie's about seventy percent sure she's joking. Maybe sixty. "What's up?"
"Can we listen to music?" Mari asks, bouncing on the spot. Her and Misty were never especially close, but they both loved listening to music with Nat and it had brought them together a little more.
Misty hums, face twisting in consideration.
''Let's not use Nat's things without her permission, Mari," she begins, getting an immediate groan of protest. She holds up her finger. "But, I have a stereo in my room. I know it's not the same thing, but do you think we could try that?"
Mari huffs, crossing her arms, but Lottie can tell she's considering the idea seriously. Misty shifts from foot to foot as she waits for Mari to come to a decision, adjusting her glasses. After a tense few moments, Mari uncrosses her arms and looks at Misty.
"Can I pick the music?"
"Well, Iβ" Misty cuts herself off, shaking her head a little. "Of course you can."
Mari whoops excitedly, jolting forward with her arms up like she's about to throw them around Misty before she freezes awkwardly. Misty bites her lip, holding out one arm and Mari leans into it, giving her a quick squeeze before pulling away and bouncing out of the room happily. It's the most awkwardly sweet thing Lottie's seen all day and she smiles sincerely at Misty.
"You better beat her up there or she might rip apart your CD collection," she warns playfully. Misty seems to take the warning seriously and she bolts out of the room in a way that makes Nat giggle wildly.
Lottie follows a little slower, relieved when she reaches Misty's room and there's a beanbag set out thoughtfully for her to sink onto with Nat on her lap. Mari and Misty are knelt by a shelf containing a few rows of CDs. Van had built it for Misty in an early-on attempt to extend an olive branch and Misty had kept it around despite it not matching the rest of the furniture in her room.
"You have a lot of the same music as Nat," Mari observes quietly, almost reverent as she scans the CDs on the shelf. Misty's smile is small, almost private.
"Yeah," she says. "Nat's got music."
Mari glances over her shoulder at where Lottie sits with Nat, who's mouthing distractedly at the hem of her sleeve, leaning against Lottie's chest. She leans forward to speak to Misty quietly.
"I got her new music," she tells the blonde eagerly.
"What did you get?"
"It's a secret," Mari replies, a little apologetic.
Misty smiles. "Well, I'm sure she'll love it, Mar."
Mari nods, brightening with Misty's approval. She reaches out and pokes at one of the CDs. Misty pulls it out, flashing the black and white cover at Lottie.
"Nice pick," Misty congratulates, sliding the disc out of the case to slip into the stereo.
She twists the volume dial and Lottie watches fondly as she and Mari both sprawl out on their backs on the floor. When the opening notes of the first song play, Nat wiggles a little in her lap, babbling quietly.
"You like this one, baby?"
"The eighth track is her favorite right now," Misty pipes up from the floor.
"Are we listening to this whole thing?" Lottie asks, a little incredulous. She didn't think Mari's attention span was quite that expansive, but Misty nods.
"Yup! Now hush, just listen."
Lottie clamps her mouth shut before she can snap back, realizing that Nat too is pawing at her shoulder to get her to be quiet. She settles back against the beanbag, letting Nat shift until she finds a comfy spot on her chest, head coming to rest just over her heart. Lottie lets her eyes slide shut as she listens, drawing shapes over Nat's back in time with the music. She cracks her eyes open every now and then to make sure Nat hasn't drifted off, because another nap might make it hard to get to sleep at bedtime, but the girl is wide-eyed every time she peeks, seemingly listening intently. She babbles happily at a few moments and Mari sits up to inform Lottie that they're parts that big Nat always comments on.
When the track that Misty identified as Nat's favorite comes on, she sits up off Lottie's chest a little to listen, swaying slightly as she does. Lottie watches with a fond smile on her face, glancing over at Mari and Misty. Mari has her eyes closed, but her mouth is split with a huge grin as she listens, feet tapping against the floor. Misty's face is impassive, but her whole body is lax, shoulders loose of the tension she usually carries around.
"You're a little music magician, huh?" She murmurs to Nat once she settles back against Lottie's chest. She puts a hand through Nat's hair a few times, getting a hum in response.
(They're listening to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours! Sorry it took so long to reply to this, anon!)
do u have any thoughts ab shauna and van's or nat and laura lee's dynamic/s pre-crash? not sure exactly what ur au entails, so no worries if that doesn't really fit lol
Hi anon! I don't have a lot of the timeline laid out for the au, but this did get me thinking about Laura Lee & Nat's dynamic pre-crash, and now I'm fully in love with these two lol <3 Here are some of those thoughts, ty for the ask!
ΫΆΰ§ . Nat would definetly try to push her regression away pre-crash, but even then, whenever she did slip a bit she would gravitate towards Laura Lee, never fully going to her but just hanging around her, just being close to such a sweet, calm presence helped her
ΫΆΰ§ . Laura Lee doesn't ask questions when Nat first fully comes to her while regressed, just opens her arms and lets her curl up there for as long as she needs. She can tell she just needs some special form of comfort and she's more than willing to give it to her
ΫΆΰ§ . Nat would definetly try to avoid mentioning it when big, but Laura Lee would casually mention that she's always there if she needs her, no matter the time or circumstances, and although Nat doesn't acknowledge the offer then, she does remember it when she needs it
ΫΆΰ§ .
