Amal's husband was shot in the foot by IOF soldiers, and Amal herself is pregnant with a fast-approaching due date. Today I am almost sixteen, after living through two years that felt like a hundred filled with pain, displacement, and loss.

Two years of war that devoured our dreams and childhood, stealing our sense of safety, our education, our very lives.

I used to be a top student, full of big hopes for my future.

But I’ve lost two whole years of learning, two years of my life, my future, my self.

This cursed war destroyed everything around us.

It changed our faces and left our bodies frail from hunger and deprivation.

It denied us food and water, medicine and rest, everything that makes life bearable.

It erased all our beautiful memories, stole our laughter and peace, and left us wearing the faces of survivors.

My family and I have lived between bombings and ruins, hunger and fear.

We moved from place to place searching for shelter, sometimes sleeping under the open sky,

sometimes in places unfit for life, between the freezing cold and the burning sun.

I’ve seen the fear in my sister’s and brother’s eyes, and in the faces of the few friends who remain.

I’ve seen my father, sick and jobless, helpless to provide us with food.

And I’ve seen my mother try to stay strong while everything around us collapses.

Two years of impossible survival. Two years of waiting for a ceasefire that never came.

And today, after the announcement of a new ceasefire agreement, we feel both hope and fear.

We pray that this time it will hold, that this time it will be real.

Hope that this nightmare will finally end, and fear that we will be let down once again,

as we have every time peace seemed near and this cursed war continued.

Please, don’t leave us alone.

708 Days of Suffering

During this period, we experienced many tragic events and witnessed many moments of death. As I recall those days, I stand in amazement that we are still alive, continuing our struggle until the day this cursed war ends, striving to build a future for ourselves that will make us forget the bitterness of these days and compensate for the cruelty we have lived and endured. I remember when the war began and the bombing began everywhere. I would hug my children every night as if we were living our last night, and in the morning, we would become nothing but a memory. I also remember the day we left our home under the bombing and gunfire, and how death was everywhere. We all ran a long distance, and people were falling. I was dying, and the deadly bullets were everywhere. I also remember the day we returned to our home to find it a pile of rubble, and I clearly remember the tears streaming from my eyes like a waterfall. I also remember the day I decided to pitch a modest tent over the ruins of our home, and I remember how we slept in it. We were bombed and the tent burned, but we survived. Now, with every day that passes and we are able to buy our food and some of our necessities, I remember that it is thanks to you, the pioneers of this great struggle, how you stood by us and did not let us down. Thanks to your donations, we are still able to fight and continue, no matter how difficult the days are. Thank you all, my friends. I am so proud of you and everything you have done for us, you generous people. I hope you will not abandon us and support us again to continue the struggle for life. Donate to us and share our posts. Last October, our world was turned upside down when our home was destroyed by an airstrike during the Gaza War. Now, my family finds themselves homeless, living in a tent that offers little protection from the dangers around it. Every day, they are haunted by the sounds of explosions, and fear weighs heavy on our hearts. Life in Gaza has become a constant struggle. The children, all 15 of them, are unable to go to school, deprived of the opportunity to learn and play as children should. All we want is to live like everyone else—to laugh, to learn, and to feel safe in our home. But in these difficult times, hope is precious. With each passing day, it becomes harder and harder to find a way out of our situation. So I turn to you, asking for your help in bringing light back into our lives. Your support makes all the difference in my family’s lives, making them feel safe and giving them a chance to live without fear.
