After her stay at Marchmont House, Princess Margaret became the guest of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch at Hume Castle, Berwickshire. Accompanied by their son, the Earl of Dalkeith, she attends the meet of the Buccleuch Hunt on 7th January, 1952.

1923 - The marriage of Lady Mary Cambridge who is a niece of the Queen, to the Marquess of Worcester, will forge another link between the Royal House and the British nobility, like the weddings of Princess Mary and of Princess Patricia of Connaught, and the forthcoming marriage of the Duke of York. All these unions tend to the strengthening of home ties in the national as well as the family sense. Off-duty at Sandringham, the Queen awards prizes for the International Gundog League Retriever Field Trials. Her own dog, Sandringham Salt, was unplaced. Presenting an award to the handler who knocked her dog out, the Queen joked: 'I don't think I should be giving you this.'
