“It sounds beautiful, what’s Vegas without drunk people anyways!”

“I’d be happy to show you the pictures. And most of them were pretty hilarious...”

“Okay, right, whatever. Excuse me, I need to use that mirror.”

“Since you asked nicely...” Maddie stepped aside, smiling, “I’m Madeline by the way... You seem like a new face..”

“Yeah, you kind of are.”

“Usually people would say excuse me....Manners are still a thing...”

“So why are you standing in my way of the only mirror in this place?”

“I--I’m not in your way am I...?”

“You went to Vegas?! Lucky girl! I’ve always wanted to go. What’s it like? Is it like the movies?”

“Yep! The big fancy dude building the thing sent a whole lot of us. It was kind of lick the movies... lots of drunk people... it was beautiful though.”

“It is nice… sometimes. Y’know like when you need to think or just chill out. Other times it’s kinda sad being the only person awake at 3am.”

“3am? That’s awfully early. Do you have a lot on your mind? You can vent to me if you do.. I don’t mind.”

“Or all the action. There was so much to do there.”

“I took tons and tons of pictures! And drank once.. but... What did you do!?”

“I mean it’s Vegas. No offense to Brighton or anything, but like… Vegas,” he repeated with a slight chuckle, as if it was obvious. “I’ve experienced way more in that one week there than my two months here. It’s lowkey depressing to be back.”

“What exactly did you do? OH! Did you get married to a random stranger?!”

“Aw, I feel you, Mads. Maybe we can go back one day. I don’t know how I would afford it but- maybe I could win the lottery. You know, anything is possible.”

“I didn’t see you at all when we were there Max... I was hoping i’d at least see you a bit to drunk passed out in the lobby cuddled up to a giant candy bar.”

“I think I miss the lights the most too. Or the fact that no matter what time it was, there were always people outside and alive. Things just get so dark and quiet here after a certain time.”

“Usually late at night was when you found the most alive people... they were loud. And I don’t mind much when Brighton is quiet... it’s nice...”
