some people got taught that you take accountability even if it's an accident and other people learned that as long as it wasn't on purpose it's okay and now those two groups of people are trying to navigate living together and apologizing to each other

I’m not gonna judge Nolan’s Odyssey movie until I see it but I sort of don’t understand why pretty much the entire cast is just celebrities. There don’t seem to be any debut actors in the entire main cast. Even I’ve heard of most of these people and even the ones I haven’t heard of have already been in multiple popular projects.

so many people ive known have pushed themselves to burnout trying to deny their disabled reality, skipping accommodations, skipping rests etc. and the world convinces them that the solution to their burnout is to push even harder. it’s a huge tragedy. i know social pressures make it tough but i want more disabled people to make things easier for themselves where possible, to opt out of things that harm them when possible, to quit while they’re ahead. be that person today! protect yourself where you can! take micro breaks while doing your hobby. get that shower chair. sit to brush your teeth. lie down in the middle of the day, even if only for 5 mins. these things add up and it’s so worth it.

one of the most annoying things about having a natural inclination to curiosity and asking questions that might make me seem stupid, so that i can learn and not be stupid, means that many many many people view themselves as more superior and significantly smarter than me, with no evidence or proof to support the feeling. they'll posture themselves above me, like some sort of patronizing monarch who obviously knows everything better than anyone (espcially me!), and then they talk to me like i am a literal child blinking up at them with wide, confused eyes. and if i tell them something they don't know? they get mad because i was smarter than them and they think i'm supppsed to be an idiot, so what does what make them? it makes me wanna fucking rage hulk out

i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.

can people stop bringing up how white they are? especially when non-white people talk about the bigotry they face, but just in general. I don't care about your skin color, I care if you're doing something to fight racism.

I know exactly who needs to hear this but you need to talk to black people offline. You need to talk to black people who are nothing like you AND! You need to purposefully expose yourself to minorities you disagree with, not as the best of friends but so you can handle the fact that they exist and that its still not your fucking right to try to control them.
