I don't read IDW, but I remember people talking about how Sonic bought a sundress that Blaze seemed interested in (which happened to be blue) in an issue where they spend time together. Then they released this official art that references that issue. Blaze also wears a bracelet made of seashells, which was revealed to have been made by Cream.

Needless to say, this art is pretty much Sonaze material even if Sonic isn't there. The wind, the sundress, and the sunflowers surrounding her are all very suggestive symbols.

for example, we have a microscope that is perfectly functional, good microscope, but its software is abandonware because the company refused to maintain it. the company is still in business, still makes essentially the exact same software, but they made all of the old tech incompatible with new software to force people to buy the new microscope tech. it would cost a quarter million dollars to replace this microscope. this perfectly good microscope.

I think this is Asgore learning that he can accept the love of others even if he doesn’t think he deserves it. He shows the flowers lots of love and care; they’re only trying to reciprocate. I don’t think he understoood that prior to this scene.

Asgore learned that his family didn’t blame him or stop loving him when he lost his job, but he did not think he deserved their love and support, so he did not accept it from them. I think that part of his obsession with learning everything he can about the dark world comes from feeling like he needs to prove he’s worthy of love.
