They sting. I got ouched by one a couple days ago. The vest is for your protection.
@phillipfancypants
there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well
and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it
source another source
the researchers found that being online didnt make people more hostile, but that being online allowed already hostile people to dominate forum conversations, and the less aggressive people were much less likely to reply or engage, ending in just the aggressive people bickering at eachother
do u ever think about corn sweat; and the fact that a large percent of corn grown in Illinois, iowa, etc is grown for ethanol and biofuel; and how solar power would be so many times more effective per acre than this; and how like 90+% of so many rare ecosystems in those states was drained for farm and suburbs (in many cases previously farms).
AND you could still have native plants around and even under the solar panels.
When you see what they did to the Midwest you'll want to fucking kill the corn lobbyists with your bare hands
Word already had a word count?! That WORKED?
You made a computer that can't COUNT?!

its actually very funny to me that lynchs work has this reputation of being very weird and confusing and opaque and so when you watch it you kinda go in expecting to have to sus out a lot of subtle metaphor and symbolism and like certainly its got its fair share but mostly the thing people find so weird about it i think is that he creates these story worlds where the rules of reality are bent to allow for as much literal communication as possible. so much of his work is just characters telling you whats going on and what it means to them so bluntly that it like loops and sounds completely bizarre, like listening to someone describe a dream they had with perfect recall and clarity. it rules. i love being autistic actually.
A cute goat sent you a message.
and a little borzoi design

Last batch of NPC portraits I've been working on, with the last set of unaffiliated npcs.
Howard Olmstead, an old Fisherman who often wanders the Seacliff Shores, or can be spotted by the Saint Dagon Lighthouse.
Isolde LeGrasse, a former military officer who now work for the police. She has keeps residence at the Heartbreak Motel, but works so often she's rarely seen there.
Lady Maribelle Crane, widow of the former Lord Jackson Crane, the last member of a fallen house. In her advanced age, without her husband or any living children, she renounced the house, and relinquised the manor to a distant nephew of her husband.
Miles Vance, a distant nephew of the Crane family, he inherited the Crane manor from his widowed aunt, with the intention of converting the historic building into a hotel. Misfortune has continuously struck his endeavors, halting his plans.
Father Ambrosio Lewis, a young priest to the fallen titans. He struggles to maintain a flock, in a world where most known gods have died, many before he was even born.
Keiichiro 'Ken' Ito, groundkeeper at the Temple of Oceanus. A quiet and detached man with little interest in religion, gods, and quite frankly, most things in general.
[First Batch] [Second Batch] [Third Batch] [Fourth Batch]
Next set of NPC portraits, assorted important characters not affiliated with any house.
Sheridan, the owner and proprietor of The Last Haven, a popular bar that acts as a neutral ground in the city. Sheridan knows everybody and everything that happens in town, but no one really seems to know anything about Sheridan.
Detective Phillip Khaw. Detective and owner of The Blind Eye Private Investigation Agency.
Cassidy Vo, up and coming reporter, trying to make a name for herself and willing to throw herself into any messy situation to do so.
Sadie Little Badger. She moved to the city to work at a hotel that was set to open, only to be snubbed on the job at arrival. She deals cards and tells fortunes at The Last Haven to try and make a living.
Danica Piper, retired actress and owner of the Heartbreak Motel. Though strangers rarely visit the seaside city, most pass through the doors of the Heartbreak, and none who do forget the striking grace of its owner.
Angelica Piper, Danica's daughter who works the motel. Though she inherited her mother's beauty and mysterious charm, she prefers a more humble life.
[First Batch] [Second Batch] [Third Batch] [Fifth Batch]
Third batch of Npcs for a game I'm working on, and the last of the Fallen Houses, House Dolingen. In order:
Lady Millie Dolingen, the stern and reclusive head of the house.
Harriett, the youngest and most social member of the house, one of the only few who is seen outside of the manor.
Ziska, Millie's right hand and the voice of the house in public affairs.
Fell, the house's bodyguard and close personal friend and confidant of Millie.
Lucy, the most reclusive in an already reclusive house, very little is known about the morbid and quiet Lucy.
[First Batch] [Second Batch] [Fourth Batch] [Fifth Batch]
Second batch of NPCs for a game I've been brainstorming. This time, House Giesbrecht, starting with:
Madame Lyssa Giesbrecht, matriarch of the household she has become reclusive since the death of her husband, Algernon Giesbrecht, four years ago. She is rarely seen by anyone outside of the household staff, and her son.
Lord Maddox Giesbrecht, the last scion of house Giesbrecht, and acting head of the house.
Argyle Grimm, companion and bodyguard to Maddox, following the footsteps of his father Siegfried, who was loyal to Maddox's own father.

Been drawing NPC portraits for a game I'm writing. I almost never post art, but there's a lot I'm really happy with, so gonna post them in batches. Starting with the few factions/houses, this one being House Pretorius. In order we have:
Lady Elsa Pretorius, eldest of the Pretorius siblings and head of the house after the tragic death of their parents. An engineer, who has turned to mechanics and electrical science in a world abandoned by God's where magic is becoming archaic.
Francis Pretorius, middle child and former medical prodigy, before poor health caused them to drop out of med-school.
Herbert Pretorius, youngest child and prodigy alchemist.
Eugene Fritz, former classmate of Francis. After Francis rescued him from a lab fire he swore fealty to them, and now acts as servant and guard to the Pretorius family
Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Wolfe-Pretorius, recently deceased wife to Elsa. While she is no longer alive, her presence weighs heavy in the Pretorius house.

i have for a while been using stepping on somebody's toes as a metaphor for misgendering. and i genuinely think that it's kind of a good one.
if you keep stepping on somebody's toes for a long time at minimum they're probably going to start really hating you and at maximum you might cause them lasting damage.
if you do it on purpose you're a dick. if it's on accident but you keep doing it that person is still going to be mad at you because you don't care enough to try not to step on their toes
if you give a grovelling begging apology after accidentally stepping on somebody's toes one time you're going to make the whole thing awkward, but not giving a quick "sorry" before moving on is still kind of rude.
