After a long hiatus (years!) Han and Leia and their fake-marriage-that-maybe-ainât-so-fake is back!
Han and Leia are deep in preparations for the wedding being thrown for them on baseâtheir best chance to finally uncover the mole they have been feeding false intel to for months. But as the end of their mission looms and they grow closer, what is real and what is part of the act is getting harder and harder to separate. And to deny.
Thanks to my generous readers who have been so patient for this update, and special shoutout to @otterandterrier / Dessi for her invaluable beta-reading support and encouragement. Enjoy!

âThe seat up there was warm! Before I sat in it!â
âI think your ship is haunted, then,â she said with a laugh.
Han chewed the inside of his cheek.
âOh, come on, Han, Iâm joking! You donât actually believe the Falcon is haunted, do you?â she asked.
Strange things have been happening on the Falcon lately. But is it something sinister or something else?
Hard to believe this was 5 years ago and the first Star Wars fic I ever posted! I think my writing has matured a bit since then, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

âi really want to kiss you right now, but i'm worried that if i try, you'll think i'm the worst friend in the world.â for the sentence starters?
ty!!!
âI really want to kiss you right now, but I'm worried that if I try, you'll think I'm the worst friend in the world.â
Han's voice, though soft, still boomed around the silence of the Falcon's main hold. Leia wasn't even sure if she'd heard him correctly â the half bottle of Corellian whiskey they'd split distorting her thoughts. She blinked up at him, sitting next to her on the bench seat, no, sitting with her on the bench seat, as nearly an hour ago she'd draped her heavy legs across his own.
His face was gentle, eyes crinkling with fondness at the corners, mouth lilted in a nervous half-smile, head lolled to the side in a way that told her he was just as affected by the drink as she was.
They had very different coping mechanisms after near-death experiences. Han would come to the hold and pour himself a few fingers worth of the good stuff, kicking his feet up to try and drop his cortisol levels out of fight-or-flight mode, attempting to give no more thought to near-miss. Leia, however, paced around the entire ship. Never saying much, but never sitting down, her brain running a thousand calculations for what they could have done wrong, what else could have gone wrong. Han would watch her, for a while, until he got dizzy just trying to keep up.
He'd coaxed her into sitting down after an hour. One more later, and she had her own glass in her hand, nursing the strong drink with a perpetual pout. And in the last hour, Han had watched the Princess fully indulge, in both the drink and the moment, feeling his heart skyrocket into his chest once she rested those long, gorgeous, fully-clothed legs over his lap.
The words slipped out before he could stop them, the alcohol loosening his tongue, the easy camaraderie lowering his walls, though, they were never very high around her in the first place.
"I'd say that wouldn't make you a very good friend." Leia finally replied, after far too long of a silence, Han able to feel the pangs of regret even through his mental haze. He swallowed down the bitter taste of rejection, placing his gaze anywhere else in the room. He should have known better than to drink with her, he was reckless enough in her presence sober, let alone after a few. He'd have to find some way to apologize, blame it on the booze, blame it on the adrenaline from barely escaping slaughter. He'd gone and completely fucked his chance, not able to keep his big mouth closed â
"But not the worst in the world." She continued, a hint of humor in her tone. Han whipped his attention back to her, the walls swaying around him, but still able to recognize that daring glint in her eye, the challenge she laid ahead of him. "I can name a litany of other worse things you've done."
"Is that permission, Princess?" He muttered in a low, sultry voice she only ever heard him use with her. She turned her face to hide the smile that stretched across it, and to avoid the pointed look in his gaze when his head ducked low.
Leia took a breath, steeling herself and the words she didn't want to stumble through.
"No, Captain, it is not." She leaned forward, bending her neck to glance up at him conspiratorially, unable to fully wipe the lilt to her lips off her face. She fully blamed the alcohol for the finger she let trail across his shoulder, then down the arm gripping the nearly-empty whiskey glass with white knuckles, feeling his muscles jump under her hardly-there touch. "Because when you finally work up the nerve to actually kiss me," her gaze flicked back to his, knowing it hadn't left her for a moment. "I want you to do it sober."
Something sloshed in his gut next to the drinks, feeling an awful lot like relief, maybe a bit of anticipation mixed in. A thrill zapped from his head to his toes at the implication behind her words, the gentle denial, but a promise of later.
Later. If there was one thing he knew about Leia Organa, she didn't make a promise she wasn't willing to keep. He wouldn't hold her to it, of course, not after what they'd indulged in... but it kept the dread at bay. It kept the door for them open just a crack, when she could have slammed it in his face.
His eyes rolled, finally, once he'd regained his grip on his composure, lifting his glass to his lips to drain the last of it, letting it clatter empty against the dejarik table. He glanced back to the small woman next to him, who wiggled her feet, mischievous look still plastered on her face.
Han reached up and mussed the top of her head, messing up her braids and sending locks of brown hair flying out in every direction. Usually, she'd have bitten his head off for it, tonight she just laughed after a brief noise of protest, batting his hands away.
I'm so excited to show you guys the night variant of Lovebound: Han & Leia. It always amazes me how the mood, tone and atmosphere of a design changes depending on the colors⌠I opted for a silver plated design for this design, as the dark colors work so nicely with the silver.
Han Solo is studying Alderaani, a notoriously difficult language to learn. Will he manage to get beyond asking where to find the library and naming his colors?
Through the power of a good song, and his bond with Leia â yes.
A little woo-woo, but it works.

Han followed the Princess down the hall of the Rebel base to the Falcon. Their mission? Get resources for the Rebellion. From an Imperial ship. He shook his head. Normally the Spectres were in charge of this, but they had their own mission right now. Some kind of dangerous artifact that this Zabrak friend of theirs had found and that they now had to destroy. After them, tasks usually fell towards the Rebelsâ other resident Force-userâthough Han still wasnât sure how much of that was trueâLuke Skywalker. Unfortunately, he was training today with that Kenobi guyâwhom he could apparently see even though he was supposed to be dead. So now the mission fell to Lukeâs two best friends. Han and Leia. The only good part of this mission, thought Han, was that he got to do it with Leia. He glanced at the Princess, who looked beautiful as ever, even though she was wearing plain clothes and had her hair in a simple braid. She smiled at him. âSomething wrong?â He looked away. âNothing.â He might enjoy teasing her, but even he didnât want to argue on a mission. Eventually they pulled up to the cargo ship. Finding the crates went perfectly, as did loading them. It was only when they came across a guard at the door that they ran into a problem. He looked at them suspiciously. âAnd what are you two doing here?â Han froze. He had no idea what to do here⌠Leia put her arm around him and stepped forward. âMy husband and I were just a little lost. Can you give us directions to the nearest refuel station? We have to get back to our home, we donât want to be away from our children too long.â Han nodded, extremely grateful for the fact that he didnât blush easily. The guardâs face softened. âOf course. I have a family back home too. Itâs my eldest childâs birthday today. Weâre having the party this evening.â Leia gave him that smile of hers that never failed to make Hanâs heart melt, though heâd never admit it, and replied, âI hope you have a wonderful celebration.â The guard nodded and directed them to a refuel station on the nearest planet. As soon as they were out of sight, Han sighed in relief. âI canât believe that worked!â Leia laughed. âMe neitherâŚâ After a few moments of silence, she planted a kiss on his cheek. âShall we get home to our children, dearest?â Han nodded, laughing. He knew she was just teasing, but some part of him wished it was trueâŚ

So this is an AU where the Rebels and Maul all survive, or maybe the events of Rebels happen a bit later during post-ANH and pre-ESB time. Not sure which. Also Han not being able to blush is based on me, because why not? He never seems to react in the movies, so⌠anyway, I hope you enjoyed!
