Ch. 1 | I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher

Way back in 2023, I created a challenge for myself. Since the show was coming out in December, I wanted to create an illustration for every chapter of The Lightning Thief by the release date, in celebration! That’s 22 chapters and lots of rereading! But this is one of my favorite series so I’m really excited to be sharing these as I revisit and clean them!

It was serendipitous that HTTYD was being promoted while I was working on this, so of course I listened to the epic soundtrack. It was also scary because I realized some of the first iterations of the dragon gave me Toothless “axolotl” vibes.

The colors are based on my dog Max 💖.

First post in years!! I’ll start with my dnd party from my last campaign. We played Out of the Abyss and everyone survived, woohooo!

Some of the style is inspired by the Castlevania animation series.

From left to right: Human bard, Warforged barbarian, Fire genasi cleric (me), Tiefling warlock, Wood Elf Ranger, and Bugbear Monk.
