We have to update on the intriguing symbiosis of ant & caterpillar on the young Acacia decurrens in the Small Bird Habitat project. Well the pupae cluster emerged as Imperial Hairstreak Blue Butterfly, and these delicate emergents were also attended by the ants, (you could imagine surprised) instinctively racing around and over the butterflies as the hatched, mated and remained around the shrub. An amazing arrangement. Following the community initiated Stop-work Injunction against Demolition of Historic values of #WillowGrove - perhaps a glimmer of reasonable reconsideration to reject the ‘paid consultants’ downgrading of significance assessment to retain and protect - a report that falsely stated no original vegetation remained onsite - describing and erasing the very self-grown (possibly pre-channelisation) local indigenous species, that everywhere else were logged for roof-shingles, tools and joinery. Right now - where exactly is this cut trunk, @lisahavilah ? Do you care to advise this Casuarina is documented, scanned and added to the @_powerhousemuseum_ @maasvolunteers Collection? Many precedents exist for total creative repurposing of distinctive tree/trunks curated into crafted artisan exhibitions. - Why not this Oak, with inclusion of authentic Darug stories and content, innovation and design respect.
