sanaskad:
"I told him t’ wait for me. Turned my back for a second, at most, an’ he was gone!” Alright, perhaps there was a bit more to it than that. There may, or may not have been a small misunderstanding that had left Nori weaving through the crowded street, avoiding the eye of an angry merchant who happened to notice a missing item or two; and, somehow, just whose pocket those items had fallen into. Nothing to worry over — he was used to that sort of thing. Even with the nasty weather as his aid, shaking the dwarf had taken a little more time than expected, and by the time he’d returned for Ori, the lad had wandered off. Not his fault, as far as Nori was concerned. He would have been perfectly happy to go on his own for bread, but Ori had insisted he tag along.
Ah, that reminded him —
”— got your bread, though.”
"Oh yes, you've got the bread. Would you like a biscuit, Nori?" the elder snapped, finding his patience growing thin as a puddle sloshed over his boot. He needed new footware terribly. Unfortunately, so did Ori, growing as the lad was, and it was much more important the dwarfling did not give himself blisters walking to and from his apprenticeship -- or wandering around the market hopelessly. "I imagine it must be quite nice in this deluge," he grumbled, peering over his shoulder at Nori. "Where did you last see the lad, then? He couldn't have gone far, he is a good boy."
