Things I wish I had been told before transition:
Fat "Redistribution" is an inglorious misnomer. Once saturated the fat your body produces will go where the HRT tells it. Sometimes ya have to work old fat off or take in more calories for your body to fill out properly.
Shaming others for their kink or sex work backgrounds is antithetical to the existence of trans identity. Most of us had this as our only path or had no choice but to take on SW. Same with hypno, sissies etc. No shaming.
There's nothing wrong with continuing to enjoy things even if you were shoe-horned into them by society while in your egg state. Electricians, technicians, plumbers, construction workers and mechanics can transition too.
Whether it be social pressures or brain chemistry being corrected your tastes are going to change. Sometimes dramatically. Things I once hated I now love and can't do without. Like myself; I actually like who I am now <3
You don't have to figure yourself out all at once. You can go from identifying as a femboy to GF to Pan Gender. You can exhaust every pronoun and neo-pronoun only to land on something else later. It is fine. It is valid.
If your main fear of transition is you think you would turn out unattractive then you've fallen into the trap meant to keep cis folk comfortable. A happier you is magnitudes of order more attractive than a miserable you.
There's no shame in coming from a fetish background into your transition. A load of us had no idea what we were until we saw it in porn and we only had that context to explore that identity for a long time. Still valid.
Catty behavior among queer folk is like sexual harassment in the work place. It might be "part of the culture" but it is unwanted and needs to go. It was a reason I avoided transition. I didn't need more bullies.
You can get testing done on your blood if you are DIY. GPs can also provide access to HRT. A lot of services claim to provide a lot of transition care but get expensive compared to paying a Family Doctor out of pocket.
Those jokes about swapping body parts you keep making with trans mascs are not actually funny or cute at all. All you need is someone trans masc to demand you surrender your balls or Adam's apple to realize it's cringe.
It's never too late to transition. Ever.
You don't need to have experienced dysphoria before choosing to transition and you may never experience it ever. Those who say otherwise are gatekeeping and wrong.
Loads of your heroes are going to become hostile. Forever. This is especially true of any celebrities you may be a fan of. It hurts most when it's someone you know personally. Weed toxic people out of your life.
It's best to think of the facial hair removal ritual LESS as "shaving" and MORE like "really brutal skin care". You are washing your face but using an ice scrapper to do it. It's something you gotta do or you can't see.
HRT users on E: Emotions are gonna hit different and at odd times. Especially early on. Doubly if you are going from androgenic to estrogenic. It's gonna be WHACKY. It evens out and you'll deep dive feelings easier.
Preexisting incidents or "Signs" of your gender issues don't have to be apparent to others or even exist to validate your transition. Your transition is already valid.
