Jax's trans revelation journey hit me like a brick, another "I saw the tv glow" situation eh? Yep, keeping things bottled inside leads to nothing good and makes you crumble from the inside slowly...

BUT I still haven't learned my lesson, tho I'm better of than Jax, as I've accepted myself some time ago. Telling others though... yeah that's just too much risk, change and questions... Helps that I'm more on the adrogenous part, so dysphoria is not that much of a problem usually. I'm numb and d3ad inside anyway lol.

And that's why I drew Jax crumbling from inside of her trans heart while choking herself, not letting herself tell anyone and eyes closed bc of the denial - with and without abstraction background.

Hope she did get to be herself irl, even through tadc version didn't get the chance.

Personally, I LOVED THE WHOLE EPISODE AND THE ENDING!!!!

It was bittersweet. It left things open, might've felt a bit like a long epilogue, but honestly?

I liked the way it went, it was never supposed to be disney happy ending, the lesson is You have to learn to live and let go of what passes. A story's end doesn't have to answer everything, nor does it have to have an action-filled solution to everything. It put a definitive end to a few things and left just the right amount of opening for our own interpretation.

Like C&A or Bubble - do we really need an answer? If tadc had a second season, sure that would be a massive issue to leave it with no crumbs. But with no extra space for exploration, would it even change anything about the ending? Or more importantly, would it be worth replacing some of the episode for it?

Well anyway, now for some of my specific reactions/thoughts.

Names! We got them yay! Also they are all from the same time period give or take a few years, whaaaat (i expected a bit bigger timejump between each appearence).

The fact that the program runs on public wifi and that's the reason it's still running is hilarious to me (as said, the mind scans were really small, so the TADC is probably also so small (and locally hosted) that the cafe doesn't notice the traffic)

Is Jax transfem? - Yes, even if she didnt go concerete "I'm girl/she/trans" the clues are all there.

"it's just implied" - NO, the song was "isn't SHE lovely" and no it was definitely not about funnybunny.

(sidenote I'll be talking about that montage more later)

On one hand, I'm a bit sad it wasn't as concrete, on the other hand I'm glad they didn't give her a half assed coming out - bc they wouldn't have time to give her proper dignified scene with enough process time without changing the mood of the episode or half-assing the rest of the plot.

If she was repressing it so hard that she got Ribbit (and chain-reaction Kaufmo) to abstract, she sure as hell wouldn't come out so easily. Even irl, she's still repressing, tho has a great friend group so hopefully it didn't take that long. (People say that in the last scene, Jax seems to have longer hair, so maybe?)

Jax is a perfect example of how one can destroy themselves by keeping things bottled inside (bit of a call out to me personally tbh, thanks reality) as well as using toxic masculinity as a self-destructive defense mechanism. (Also shout-out to that person who predicted this!) You can now add Jax to the "I saw the TV glow" category! /hj

Tho I hoped to see the official trans jax avatar.

But lets be honest, there are and will be many many great, amazing and heartfelt fanfics about her journey and coming out, that begs the question.. does canon really need it, when it can't give as much time and focus as it deserves?

As much as Jax and Pomni are main characters, the story isn't just about who Jax is.

Also no-coming-out representation also matters greatly! Remember, many people don't get to have one before they leave.

Would I love it if after the montage and the white light Jax with new avatar came out? ABSO-FNG-LUTELY!!!

Would it leave a massive plot hole how to reverse abstraction with the others and be very complicated to incorporate in the time frame/thematically? HELL YEAH!!

And who are we kidding here? There will be TONS of fan animatics/comics/art/fiction about it, so I'm completely fine with it not being IN the episode itself, the montage is enough for me.

Subtle confirmation, but what Jax meant, if you didn't get it the first time was - her mom was comparing Jax to her father, so Jax thought if she'd come out, mother will be happy bc she is nothing like her father.

I imagine the convo going something like - "YOU MEN ARE HORRIBLE, YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER!!!! - WELL, I'm NOT even a man to begin with!! I never was!"

And then she hurt her mom, another point in her deep repression, this might've been an accident, and she caused Ribbit to abstract bc of how she cut her off, but in her mind... Jax probably blamed the coming out most. (when bad things start happening when you say something, you'll stop telling ppl stuff. As much as you know logically, it's not your fault, the bad timing just makes it so much harder. - I know that from experience.

Caine redemption? A bit bittersweet, but hey if they can't leave, why hang onto that stuff, they can create so many good memories, that the bad ones will be just a single grain of sand in the infinite hourglass.

Second AI? Tbh a bit confusing for me. The way I see it, the 2nd AI had more power and creative capabilities, but because Cain absorbed it, it had yet to gain its moral code/emotional intelligence and it had no capability to learn it - that's the reason behind the megalomaniac/god tendencies and Bubble behaviour (as we can't see him after Cain puts away the second AI). Cain absorbed it prematurely.

What happend to C&A? Maybe I missed it, but did it get answered? Were they such a small startup, that when Cain went rampant, they canceled the project?

Could they "access" abstracted people like Pomni did Jax? Or was it just fresh abstraction thing? I hope they can, Kinger could visit Queenie and not just see her in the aquarium.

Aaand finally, thank you SO SO SO MUCH to @gooseworx for creating this show!!

I can't believe how invested I became in this series and how much it touched my heart!

Tbh when I first saw the pilot, I wasn't much of a fan, which was disappointing after hearing so many good things about it..

But I decided to give it a second try by at least watching it through reaction videos, AND IM SO GLAD I DID. Because after 4th episode i think(?), I fell in love with the show and went back to rewatch it from begining, joyfully awaiting what comes next ever since!

Jax slowly became my favourite, at first I thought it was just because of his suffering (as weird or cold as it sounds, i guess its somehow comforting seeing chars crash out fully, when I keep everything inside), but looking back, maybe I subconsciously picked on the trans coding and repressing that I relate to (on non-specified level/form/timeline).

Man I didn't even write anything like this about TOH or Amphibia, it hit me that much huh.

It's sad how it all came crashing down just before the release,but I still wish we could get a tiny bit after-show content, maybe gooseworx's version of Jax's true avatar, or the group hanging out irl. But I completely understand how messed up she must feel about this show after how the fandom treated her.
