Ok so like. i want to rant publicly about my hypothetical speculative alien biology(?) in the among us show. spoilers below for who the impostor is. this is gonna b very stream of consciousness
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER so we know orange and green were infected in the "rich capitalist white person takes charge for 3 seconds and fucks everything over" incident. its interesting to me the sheer speed of how these parasites grow up!?!??!? either that or p!green was exaggerating their age when talking about not wanting the babies to steal their kills??
"brooo these BABIES stealing my KILLS!!!! yeah no i'm like three hours old but UGHH these CHILDREN ARE SO ANNOYINGGG"
unless like..??? either greens parasite already hatched inside the crate for some reason, or its the youngest "person" EVER. actually its never specified whether green looks down upon the babies specifically due to the age but its mostly inferred via context? i could be very wrong and its just a case of p!green being an alien and wanting to kill. wait let me rewatch the scene from the episode
nevermind they stated they just hate competition. im dumb
still. is it just interesting to me how as SOON as those little suckers get out their egg (+ore)s theyre CRAWLING towards the nearest crewmate to crawl up and in their "suits". im assuming its an instinct similar to ducklings attaching to the first thing they see. is the "walking ominously towards the nearest crewmate" also an instinct or were the infant newborn aliens somehow sentient enough to read the room and assist p!green. p!green was able to immediately act normal when they infected green so likeee....
actually that leads me into the other question i have: do aliens have access to their hosts' memories. how else do they know stuff about their own character? this seems pretty obvious but what are the paramaters of their memory? to what degree do they "become" the crewmate they killed? morality is a sum of a persons lived experiences, what theyre told but also what they personally know, so wouldnt knowing a persons entire life make you empathise with them? or is it more a thing where their memory stealing abilities allow them to look at only a few memories, just the important "backstory lore" stuff, or maybe seen from third person so its less personal? im probably just nitpicking.
ALSO whats with the salt dissolving a crewmate's suit after it's been infected? and especially after such a short time of being infected. in what way does the parasite affect a crewmate's suit so that it becomes the same (or at least a similar) molecular structure to the alien itself to be able to be dissolved. and, again, the SPEED of it bro, what do they feed these aliens??? well except crewmates
to think of it this is the second space-related visual piece of media i watched in the span of two days that featured at least one (untrained) astronaut on a ship that uses alien lifeforms as fuel and had more than half the original crew die (and also both meet an alien i suppose.) stares at project hail mary
