Not Toto, and Most Definitely Not in Kansas || Mikael || Re: Prologue || OPEN
The first thing Mikael knew, when he woke up, was panic. (Well, aside from the fact that the floor was grey, and judging from the feel, it was concrete.) He didnât remember coming to such an odd place. And no, he wasnât speaking of the hexagon shapes, and while he wasnât in the least bit superstitious, they were much better than pentagons.Â
This had been an extremely awkward day; his neck hurt from lying on the ground for what he surmised was an undetermined amount of time, and it honestly (pardon his language) sucked. Mikael counted quite a number of other unconscious people in various outfits, and was quite tempted to check over them to see if he could determine what caused said unconsciousness, but he decided not to - there was no need to open up that can of worms. Besides, the after effects of blunt force trauma would be obvious, right
Checking over himself, the Virologist determined that there was no aftertaste in his mouth that may have indicated a foreign substance, but that meant nothing - there were many new chemical compounds that were tasteless. And while his mouth did feel dry, that wasnât necessarily an accurate sign of having consumed drugs - not that he would ever take them. (That was just an idiotic move in general.)
Mikael mused on the situation, checking to see if he was sore and stiff - which he was, kind of. Enough to show that heâs been on lying the cold ground, even though it wasnât actually his idea. Verifying that he was still appropriately dressed and everything, gave him time to come to the conclusion that he wasnât the issue.
Therefore, someone else had to have brought him here.
His last memory was of entering Hopeâs Peak Academy. As unlikely and unhumourous as it was, if this was some twisted version of an Orientation camp, or fraternity bash⌠well, he would be extremely unhappy. Scientists werenât meant to go outside frolicking and prancing around like idiots with other people.
But maybe, one of the others would have more information for him. The lack of information on this case was⌠unsettling, so to speak. Walking over, he prodded the nearest person. Poke poke. âAre you awake?â Like anyone would still be sleeping after being so rudely poked. âIf you will excuse me; do you know where we are, and why weâre here?â
