i would’ve loved to see more of caitlyn’s spiral, her internal conflict. (and i really, really don’t care about the “well people couldn’t even handle so-and-so” i obviously don’t care about those people, shut up.) this is essentially the first time she goes through actual loss (that we’re shown). her life of privilege has allowed her this as opposed to life in the undercity where losing someone happens often, and her grief is, understandably, dialed to an eleven. she is a fully grown adult capable of making her own decisions, but she is also a grieving adult given an insane amount of authority/power with the knowledge of just who was the cause behind it. i would’ve loved to see her do more with her grief. obviously, we see her become something close to a dictator, but i would’ve preferred that 100% claim of title (+ some consequences of it, but that’s another conversation) than the instant turn around at the first sight of vi.

i think there should’ve been more sightings, more fights between each other where, at first, caitlyn is very firm in her stance, but over time, you can see her openly struggle with her choices. which she does do in the show, but again, i feel it’s truly the pacing and the limitations that just hurt season 2. i was incredibly shocked to find out that was a year or so of events, a year we should’ve been given the full experience of to better know these characters old and new.

caitvi really fucking deserved better care when it came to not only the individual arcs of caitlyn and vi, but also their romance. (i know this was mostly about caitlyn, but i’m not sure if i have much to say on vi just yet.)
