“Happens a lot?“ Luke asked, grabbing a few napkins to wipe his face and pat down his shirt.

“I think it’s a good sign that they like me. Or maybe they’re just exhausted.”

“Help yourself,“ Ronan waved at the tabled, leaning back in his chair. “And I’ll take another bottle. Is my brother or cousin in the back somewhere?“

Ronan waved goodbye to Ishtar, Kaylor and Brighton but stayed at their table to finish his drink. He was unwilling to go shopping with them for whatever they needed at the mall a few block away. Noticing a few seconds later that someone was hovering at the edge of their table, Ronan continued sipping on his wine, waiting for them to speak.

Esther smiled with delight “Awesome! I hope you don’t mind getting like really really dirty. Come with me, let’s get our numbers.” The teachers lead the woman to another booth “I’m Esther by the way. I’m sort of in charge of this whole thing.” 

Rachel froze at the sound of the woman’s voice, unsure of where to go next. As she moved closer towards the clearing she saw a blonde woman with a giant telescope. She crept closer towards the edge of the forest, but remained hidden.

Sven was walking alone in the woods, in his natural element, carrying a pelican case for his telescope. It was a rare free night and he was going towards a beautiful spot he found a long time ago. When he got closer he could smell her and hear her heart beating before he saw her. Standing at the opening of the clearing, Sven waited until she noticed him before stepping closer, checking out her telescope. “Nice model.”

On the trail

Dante had been on the trail for an hour already when he heard it. It was a sound his body instinctively recognised and reacted to before his brain had even processed the thought. Gunshot. If he wasn’t mistake, a rifle. He’d instantly stopped running, crouching lower to the ground. Looking round and listening carefully to the surrounding area he pinpointed where it had come from whilst half expecting another. That’s when he spotted someone heading towards him from the direction he was sure the sound of the shot had come from. He didn’t want to assume they were a threat but everything in him was on high alert none the less. “Slow down and show me your hands” he called, not too loudly to not draw attention to them incase this person wasn’t the shooter. As he did he slowly stood again and held up his own to show it hadn’t been him. 

Ainsley caught scent of the wolf from a way off. Her plan had been to head off in another direction and leave the woman in peace. But when the woman called out she knew she’d heard her. Rather than leave her to wonder what was out there in the woods, Ainsley decided it would be best to show herself. Besides, from the wolves she’d met they seemed like a nice bunch. She slowly trotted into the camp in her fox form, stopping a safe distance from the woman.

“Yeah. You look absolutely amazing,“ he smiled. “You can follow me on Insta too or Tik Tok.”

Vendors? Check. Volunteers? Check. Mud? Check. Esther was going down her checklist and it wasn’t until she looked at the participants with their partners that she recognized her mistake. Everyone had a partner except her. What kind of teacher would she be if she didn’t run? Plus she could never pass up the opportunity to get dirty. Esther ran up to the person closest to her “Can you be my partner for the Mud Run?” She pleaded “Please, it’ll be fun and it’s for a good cause.” 

Outside Area || Downtown

Patch was soaking up the sun, having been Underground with his friends for the entire night, when he saw caught a glimpse of something. Turning away from the sun, Patch looked to his left and smiled. The person passing by had the most unusual features that Patch had seen, especially for Chicago. He knew that he had to have it. “Hi, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude or creepy but can I get a photo of you? I’m a artist and I would love to capture you in this sunlight,” Patch asked, walking slowly up to the person. 

She had spent most of the day setting up her camp, wanting to be done by the time night fell. Selene had figured that she was out far enough into the woods that no one would just stumble upon her and ruin what was supposed to be a peaceful and serene night. She was getting settled behind her telescope, when she heard the tell tell noises of someone or something nearby. She turned and looked around, “Hello?” She wasn’t exactly thrilled about having something moving around in the dark in the woods.
