“Wanna go to my place this evening? I’m a great cook, though obviously not too modest.” he winked, chuckling. “And don’t worry about social life yet, you’ll fit in soon enough. I’m glad you like it here so far.” 

“I’m always a slut for food!” He exclaimed proudly, giving Chuuya a thumbs-up.

He was taking a stroll, to get to know the city his master protected with his own eyes instead of the notes Doppo wrote down alone. They were certainly always detailed and descriptive, but it was still different to complete the image through one’s human eyes, was it not? 

While admiring the sea as he licked from his ice cream (chocolate with bits of nut sprinkled on top), he hadn’t noticed the stranger at first. Obviously, this was because more people were present, but what Tetsuo hadn’t paid attention to, was that sunset was near and therefore it was Port Mafia’s turn to ‘own’ the city. And it just had to be his luck that the stranger was a Port Mafia member, or so he remembered what little his master managed to write down about this fellow. 

“Nakajima Atsushi, right?” Oh, wait. Didn’t that sound awfully suspicious as well? “A-Ah! My apologies, that sounded rude. I’ll be on my way then, yeah?” Tetsuo turned around and casually attempted to walk away, as if nothing just happened. 

The sun was already about to set when Atsushi stepped outside of his apartment. It was about time he went his usual way through the city to make sure everything was in order. Hands shoved into his pockets, he calmly walked down the streets.

He was caught up with his own thoughts, ears sharp to pick up any suspicious noise that would indicate ongoing trouble. So far, nothing. Perhaps he would be lucky and this night would be peaceful for once. Highly unlikely, but a man could dream, right? Eventually, he came to a halt. Maybe he should grab himself a cup of coffee before all the shops closed up for tonight.

Ready to turn around, he stopped himself when he heard someone call his name. Curious, Atsushi turned his head towards the stranger, raising a brow at his strange behaviour. “Oi.”

“Heh… I gotta take you out drinking more, boy. Let you see some world beyond the headquarters.” Chuuya grinned, though he didn’t push with his proposal. 

For now.

“Speaking of which, how’re you doing, hm? Settling in well? We’re starting training next week, remember. Speaking of which, they gave you that apartment in the headquarters, right? Everything okay there, you don’t mind living on your own?” 

“Does going out drinking involve food? If yes, I’m game.” Atsushi would never turn down any invitation that involved food.

“Well, what the hell were you thinking, girls aren’t some baby-making machines. There’s a time of the month, different for every girl, when they can get pregnant. It’s not foolproof, though, so it’s not completely safe if the girl only says she’s not in the risky days, those things change.” The redhead chuckles lightly.

“Seriously, I should just give you over to Anee-san and her girls so they could teach you properly.” he winked. 

“Sure I am! And well, hm… I mean, if you’re with someone long term, trust each other, know the other is clean and you are as well, why not? Go without it. With girls though, better always use it, unless you want a child, obviously. Or if she tells you she’s protected and it’s not a risky time of the month, though most girls I encountered preferred to keep it on anyway, just in case.” 

“No. No listen. We’re supposed to NOT let the enemy spot us, Akutagawa-kun. We can’t just run in there and—” And he was gone. Why was it that every time those two were put on a mission together, Atsushi always ended up running after his partner? In the end they always succeeded, which was all that mattered, but did they have to go through this every damn time?

A heavy sigh left the man-tiger’s lips and, with a shake of his head, he got up from his spot behind one of the bigger trees, ready to make his way over to where Akutagawa was already in the middle of a fight.

“Well, of course! Girls are amazing, but so are guys; you just gotta try what you like, and there’s nothing wrong with preferring one, the other, both or none. To each his own, y’know? Just make sure they know what they’re doing… and, the fact guys don’t get pregnant doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use a condom, just saying.” 

“Heh, smart, smart, no reason  to close doors for yourself.” he winks.

“You sure? Because you don’t sound too sure. Seriously, man, you could hurt a girl if you don’t know how to do it properly. Or are guys more your thing?” 

“Dude, seriously, how old are you…” Chuuya shook his head before leaning closer to the boy, frown on his face.

“…don’t tell me… you do know where to put it, right..?” Chuuya. Chuuya sthap. 

“Should I ask Anee-san to help you out? She could find an experienced girl to show you the ropes, y’know…” 

“I’m 18. A-and I do know where to... put it...!” Atsushi blushed brightly, waving his hands to quickly dismiss Chuuya’s offer. That sounded awkward.

“Yep, usually, though not the whole pack. Just one’s fine, unless you’re planning on some bigger adventures. I usually keep one in my wallet, though, in one of the card compartments. Just in case, y’know.” 

Chuuya explained, as if he was sharing some sacred wisdom. 

“Why the interest, by the way? Someone on your radar?” 

He had to note this down! Just one, not the whole pack.

Well this was... an unexpected turn of events, to say the least. But for some reason not unpleasant - not yet anyway. He couldn’t move like this, Rashomon had him tied down completely, but somehow he didn’t feel threatened. Okay, maybe a little bit. He never knew what Akutagawa was thinking, so this could go either way. Atsushi hoped it wouldn’t end up in a fight.
