Because wdym you’re profiting off of a beloved YouTuber in the Minecraft community who unfortunately passed away from cancer just four years ago.

“He’s donating half the money he makes to charity” good for him? Believe it or not he can do that from a YouTube channel that doesn’t use the fame of a man who passed away from cancer.

Also doesn’t help that he claims that he’ll take the channel down if Technoblades dad is uncomfortable with it. A few of Technoblades friends have literally come out and said that they’re not comfortable with some stranger larping as their close friend whose life was taken early (the friends being Tubbo and SneegSnag). Fans of Technoblade and just people in general have also said that it’s really weird of him to do and that it’s disrespectful that he’s profiting off of a man who passed away from cancer.

Also whether intentional or not, Technolarp has put Technodad in a lose-lose situation. If Technodad says he’s fine with it, fans of Technoblade will claim that Technodad is giving away his son’s fame to someone else to profit off of. But if he says he doesn’t like it, the channel will be taken down (hopefully) which will probably cause fans of Technolarp to attack Technodad. (Obviously I don’t know for certain but with how the internet works both of these seem somewhat possible)

“Technodad said he’s fine with it” WRONG. Technodad hasn’t explicitly said he’s fine with it or isn’t fine with it. This is the statement Technodad has published himself:

In the statement he says he’s not entirely sure what to think about it. Not that he’s okay with Technolarp profiting off of the fame of his son or that he’s not okay with Technolarp.

Hot Take: it was extremely weird for Technolarp to reach out to Technodad and basically said: “Hey, are you okay with me larping as your son who passed away from cancer just four years ago?” Like don’t get me wrong sending one email about is okay. But reaching out multiple times (according to Technodad) on the matter and not receiving a response probably should’ve been a nudge in saying ‘maybe this is somewhat disrespectful’

Edit (since I have more thoughts on the matter):

“Technoblade would’ve found this funny!” How the hell would you know that? You didn’t know him personally you just watched his videos. This can obviously be said about people saying he wouldn’t find this funny but in all honesty I prefer the argument that isn’t defending a guy profiting off of a man’s death.

This is all my opinion on the matter, but to conclude:

•Technolarp is weird

•I don’t like what Technolarp is doing

Anyways, now that I’ve ranted about this I’m probably going to get back to writing!! (I’m probably going to take this down at some point I just needed to rant since my friends aren’t answering my messages rn)

And thats fine, if the content gave you comfort and help its understandable that you'd miss it because its close to your heart. Since you don't know the person so you miss what they gave you and what Technoblade gave us was truly special.

But the moment someone gives you a knock off version of that content back suddenly what you wanting content is more important than the grief of those who lost a son, friend and brother? No.

Their wants and needs take the highest importance. No you are not grieving, you did not know him. No, you missing him is not on the same level of them missing him.

All of Technoblade’s content is still up. His channel is still available. You can be a decent normal individual and rewatch it any time.

“Well Techno would have been fine with-“ Techno wasn’t even fine with being selling fan merch of him, you really want to try and say he’d be fine with someone profiting off of pretending to be him? Seriously.

“But larp said he would stop if-“ he has backed Technodad into a corner. Seeing how intensly people defend technolarp do you really think they’ll be all cool and chill if and when Technodad asks him to stop? After all Techno’s friends have voiced their discomfort? Really? Apparently he also reached out to Technodad which just shows how uncaring he is. “Hey can I pretend to be your dead son? Btw I’ve already started lol”. How can you even think to not only think this up but then start it and after you’ve started you go and bother a grieving father for approval and to make yourself seem like less of a shit bag? Ugh.

“But skeppy-“ doesn’t seem to be handling anything well and because this clearly isn’t a healthy thing to do I don’t think it should be encouraged.

And regardless, Technoblade has passed. He cannot say what he would have wanted or what he would have done. So we have to take what people know actually knew him say on his behalf to protect not just his legacy but their own mental health and their journey with grief.

You as a fan will never be more important than that.

This whole technolarp thing is disgusting. Not only did technolarp NOT get a blessing from technodad, hes actively making money off of pretending to be technoblade.

When technoblades friends and even his FATHER said they weren't comfortable with this, but instead of taking this as the hint that its not okay, Technolarp is putting more pressure on technodad, a man who's still grieving his dead son to, to have to say "hey don't roleplay as my son" which will make people see technodad as the villain because technolarps whole brand is using people grief against them.

Even with Skeppy, its obvious that Skeppy is still going through grief and this whole thing is unhealthy for everyone.

He's literally impersonating Technoblade. Who, might I remind you, tragically passed away due to cancer.

He says he reached out to Technoblade's dad for permission. Fine. But guess what? His dad was so conflicted that he didn't give an firm answer. So Technolarp took that as a yes. Silence is not a fucking yes. That silence should've been his sign to NOT do this.

Imagine how damaging this has to be for some of Technoblade's loved ones, who are watching someone play pretend and be someone who's dead, someone who they probably went to a funeral for. And for the friends of his and the people who are interacting with Technolarp, that's a horrible, horrible coping mechanism. No hate to them though, of course.

This is a random stranger that decided to fake the identity of a dead internet celebrity, who had NOTHING to do with him. This is WEIRD! That's WEIRDO behavior! Stop🙏

We've called out people trying to pretend to be dead rulers and historical figures, but once it's a youtuber apparently it's alright because it's funny. It's weird dawg!!!

Speaking to her one on one did not work out and she don't seem to be open to the idea of 1) expanding her views and 2) that she actually said something inappropriate.

Now yes, I'm aware these are just OCs, but aside from me also just wanting my wishes respected: this shows a clear aversion towards queer identities. She would bring up her views several times unprompted, making an uneasy environment.

I'm always for exposing people to queer identities or progressive ideas, but this individual only butted heads and then revealed her true colours with the insta story, so as she said - "it is what it is".
