I slam the door in his face and lock it. I know I’m being petty. He has the keys. He can easily open it. Still, for a second, the house is quiet. Just me and the door that’s blocking Finn from entering. Trying to prevent what I know is the right thing.

“Open the door before I do it myself.”

His voice shakes. In a way, he also knows what’s going to happen. What has been happening for months.

“No,” I say as I walk into our bedroom.

My hands are shaking a little. I hate that they are. I start pulling random things off the dresser, pretending I’m looking for something, even though I have no idea what. Anything to keep moving.

A few seconds pass. Maybe a minute before I hear the keys.

I put my head against the dresser for just a few seconds before facing the inevitable.

A few minutes later he’s standing in the doorway of our bedroom, looking at me with sadness in his eyes.

“What’s going on with you?” he asks. “What’s going on with us?”

I let out a laugh in a sad attempt to cover my sob.

“We haven’t been fine for months, Finn.” I wipe my face as fast as I can to prevent any more tears.

“Then talk to me. Because locking me out isn’t what we do. Since when have we done that, Y/N?” he begs.

I almost tell him. That the filming, traveling, and all the distance that has grown between us has shown that we slowly stopped being ourselves with each other. But the words can’t come out. I know what needs to be done, but I don’t think I’m strong enough. Saying them out loud will only make them more real.

He’s looking at me, and I know he’s starting to understand what’s happening. His face slowly changes.

“No,” he says quietly, shaking his head. “Don’t.”

“Finn—”

“Don’t say it,” he interrupts, his voice breaking mid-sentence. “Because if you say it, then it’s real. Please don’t say it.”

I feel more tears leaking. It’s already real, I want to say, but I can’t.

“You have to admit to yourself that it’s been over for a while. We stopped caring, Finn. At some point we put everything into our work that we stopped being Finn and Y/N. It’s time to open the blinds and see the truth.”

He shakes his head in disbelief, sadness in his eyes. “So this is it?” he asks quietly.

My throat feels dry and itchy, and I need to get away. I need to think. I need to feel like I’m not making the biggest mistake of my life.

“I never stopped caring, Y/N.” He’s standing right in front of me now, and I don’t know how much longer I can fight it. The truth is that we did stop putting in the effort.

I nod in resolve.

“Maybe not,” I whisper. The space between us feels too delicate for voices louder than a whisper.

I turn around and open the blinds, looking out at the scene in front of me.

“But we stopped choosing each other.”

I walk toward the bed and grab my jacket before going back to him.

“I hope one day we can choose each other again. With everything in me, Finn. I hope we get our happy ending together where we light each other up again and get lost in the madness. But we’ve pushed each other to our limits,” I say with sadness in my voice.

I smile at him with red, burning eyes before hugging him.

“I love you enough to know this is the right decision for both of us. If we wait any longer, I know you’ll start to resent me, and I can’t live knowing you resent me, Finn. I’ll be staying at Millie’s or Sadie’s before coming back to pack.”

His arms stay locked around me as he exhales.

“I really hope you’re right,” he whispers into my ear. I can hear the tears in his voice, and it’s breaking me. “About us finding our way back someday.”

“Hi, I’m Sadie Sink,” Sadie started with a small wave toward the camera.

“I’m Caleb McLaughlin,”

“I’m Finn Wolfhard,” Finn said, flashing an awkward grin at the camera.

“And I’m Y/N / L/N ,” you finished.

All four of you leaned in slightly, smiling as you said in sync, “And today we’re with LADbible.”

“we’re doing an American versus British food test,” Sadie explained as a crew member stepped into frame, setting down a plate with a dome covering it in front of you.

Each dish would be hidden beneath a smooth silver dome, the kind you’d see at a fancy restaurant, making it impossible to tell what was underneath.

“And while we’re tasting,” Caleb added, glancing at the covered plate, “we’ll be answering questions.”

You leaned forward slightly, eyes flicking between the domes, already anticipating what you would be tasting.

A producer gestured to the first covered plate as it was slid toward the center of the table.“This’ll be interesting,” you said, laughing softly as Finn raised an eyebrow beside you, clearly just as intrigued.

You reached forward and lifted the silver dome, revealing two jars sitting side by side with slices of bread laid out neatly in front of them.

Marmite.

Peanut butter.

You blinked once, then let out a small laugh.

“Okay, we have Marmite and peanut butter,” Sadie said, leaning in to get a better look.

“Interesting,” you added, glancing between the jars. “I actually enjoy watching these videos, and I’ve yet to see an American genuinely enjoy the Marmite.” Finn made a face beside you.

Caleb chuckled under his breath “ and I’m forced to watch them” I nudge Caleb with my feet while Sadie and Finn laugh.

A woman behind the camera spoke up, cutting through the laughter. “If you could give your season one self advice, what would it be? We’ll start with you, Y/N.”

You immediately made a face, letting out a laugh. “Why me first?” Caleb, Finn, and Sadie all laughed along with you, the sound easing any nerves you had.

You started answering the question, but halfway through, you glanced to your side and noticed Caleb quietly working on two slices of bread, Marmite already spread evenly across both of them.

“Okay, um,” you began, shifting your focus back to the camera.

“I would tell myself that it’ll all be okay. The journey will be fun and it’ll definitely have bumps, but not to worry too much about what other people think and to just focus on yourself.” You finished with a small nod, as if reassuring your past self all over again.

“Okay, and Caleb?” the woman behind the camera prompted.

“Oh, sho—” Caleb cut himself off, glancing down at the bread in his hands. “I didn’t get to finish the peanut butter one earlier, so just take some of mine.” He smiled over at you, and you returned it without hesitation.

“What I would tell eleven-year-old Caleb,” he continued, turning thoughtful, “I think I have to agree with what Souline said. We’ll figure everything out. Focus a bit more on yourself, because I think I knew who Lucas was before I really knew who I was.”

“That was good,” Sadie said, and all of you nodded in agreement. “I’ll go next,” she added.

“I’d tell my younger self that the journey will be fun, and to really learn from Stranger Things. It’s about friends, leaning on your support system, and not turning help away—actually leaning into it. I think that’s what I’d tell myself.”

“And Finn?” the voice behind the camera asked.

Finn let out a small laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Okay, great. I honestly don’t think I need to go—these guys just gave really good answers and I can’t come up with anything greater.”

You smiled at him as he continued.

“The media’s been harsh growing up,” Finn said more seriously. “I’d tell my younger self to set boundaries really early on. I have pretty bad anxiety, so I think if I could’ve given myself that advice, it would’ve helped a lot in the long run.”

Caleb held up a slice of Marmite bread with mock solemnity. “After all that wisdom, I think we earned this.”

Sadie rolled her eyes, laughing. “Yeah, yeah, enough talking—let’s just eat it.”

You took a bite of the peanut butter one first.

“ I feel there’s no real chance that the marmite will win. Who doesn’t like peanut butter.”

“ People allergic to peanuts.” Finn counters back with a sarcastic grin.

I laugh let out a laugh and give him a ‘ obviously, but besides them look. ‘

the voice behind the camera then asks: What will your answer be for this first round?

“The peanut butter” We all say in union.

The crew behind the cameras all start laughing.

A crew member stepped into frame again setting down a plate with a dome covering it in front of you.

: Now before you uncover this plate, answer this question: what should we expect for season 5 of stranger things, Sadie?

“Ooh, I can’t give away too much, but let’s just say it’s going to be intense. Bigger mysteries, more twists… and definitely some moments that’ll make your jaw drop.”

“ it’s going to be intense. You know, emotions everywhere, laughing, crying, and probably screaming into a pillow at 3 a.m.” Caleb says

“ Season 5 is going to test all of us… in ways we didn’t know we needed.” Finn finishes.

“ I can’t say anything else that they haven’t already without spoiling so let’s uncover this plate”

“what is this… Percy Pigs.”

“ Ooh gummy bears.” Sadie says I look over and nod because who doesn’t love gummy bears.

“ hand me the bag, I’ve been dying to try these Percy Pigs.”

I open the bag and plop one in my mouth before handing the bag to Sadie.

“they kinda taste like… those gummy sharks, I don’t know if you guys know what I’m talking about. They have that white marshmallow-y thing underneath..”

Sadie nods “ okay yeah I get what you mean. They’re really good. “

“ What would you rate this one”

“definitely the Percy pigs.” Finn and Sadie nod in agreement

“I don’t know guys, I’m not really digging those Percy Pigs. I’ll have to go with the gummy bears.”

: and last question for Caleb and Y/N, with season 4 ending how it did with your character in Stranger things Y/N, what are we to expect, and for you Caleb because of your relationship your character Lucas has with Y/Ns ( Characters name )

You smile, thinking about your character. “Well, with everything that happened in Season 4, I think it’s safe to say Season 5 is going to test a lot of relationships… including mine and Lucas’. There’s going to be more challenges, more moments that really push us to rely on each other—and honestly, I think it’s going to shape how he grows too. So, fans can expect a lot of character development, some heart-stopping moments, and definitely a deeper look at what it means to fight for the people you care about.”

Caleb nods, smiling. “Yeah, exactly. And while Y/N is talking about how her choices affect my character, for the rest of the group, Season 5 is going to be just as intense. Everyone’s dealing with the fallout from Season 4, and there are some huge challenges ahead that’ll test how we all work together. So, it’s going to be a lot of action, surprises, and moments where the group really has to step up.”

Lady behind the camera: Thank you.

“thank you for having us.” I say

“ Don’t forget to watch stranger things. Vol. 1” Sadie says

A/N: Hi! This is my first time doing one of these so I’m sorry if it sucks, lol. I hope you enjoy!

Interviewer: The Duffer brothers have released there will be five deaths. Are either of you a part of the five deaths?

I laugh and glance at Sadie. She smiles back at me.

“I didn’t know they released such information. I’m not privy to such things, so I cannot confirm or deny,” I say.

“Sadie, do you have anything to add?” the interviewer asks.

“I’m going to backtrack on Souline,” she says with a grin. “I’m also not privy to what the Duffer brothers come up with. I just help bring it to life.”

The interview finishes with that last question and I spot Caleb immediately. I always do.

He’s listening to someone, nodding along, hands in his pockets. He looks up when he feels me staring and I smile before turning around to wave bye to Sadie because I’m done for the day while she has 1 interview left.

“Hey baby”

His smile breaks before he can stop it. He leans in, kisses me quick, then pulls me close, his chin settling on my shoulder while he preps kisses on my neck.

“You survive?” he asks

“Barely” I say “They asked me the same question three different ways”

He laughs that booming sound he has “Sounds about right”

The air outside is cooler than I expected, crisp enough to make me pull my jacket tighter around me. Caleb bumps his shoulder against mine, playful, and I bump back before he pulls me in.

“Hungry?” he asks

I shrug “Always But nothing fancy”

He grins “Diner Classic fries and a milkshake”

“Perfect” I say smiling

The drive is quiet, the radio playing some pop music I barely notice. I watch Caleb’s profile, the way he hums along to the song, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel.

By the time we reach the diner, the sun is dipping low. We slide into a booth near the window, the kind of spot that lets us watch the world pass but keeps us mostly invisible aka where every known person hopes to sit at. Caleb orders the fries and a burger. I get a burger and a chocolate milkshake.

Caleb leans back a little stretching his arms over the top of the seat. I reach for my milkshake and take a slow sip letting the chocolate melt in my mouth. He watches me and grins “god, I love you.”

I smile at him, so hard it hurts, “I love you.“

We eat slowly, talking about nothing important. His hand finds mine on the table without me thinking. I squeeze it once, just to remind him I’m here, and he squeezes back. Then he starts telling a story about a take he remembers from season one, how he completely forgot a line and had to improvise. I laugh at the mental image and he chuckles along. Somehow we end up laughing about an old behind-the-scenes moment from season two, the one where Sadie forgot her line and decided to make everyone laugh. The memory is vivid enough that Caleb wipes a tear from the corner of his eye without noticing. I laugh harder, I’m going to miss stranger things so much. The day I finished with my scenes I couldn’t stop crying around the house while Caleb watched and shed a tear or two as well.

“God you’re ridiculous” I say between giggles

“I know” he grins leaning across the table playful “And you love it”

“I do” I admit smiling softly. He leans back and stretches his fingers across mine, letting them rest lightly together. He tilts his head and watches the world outside the window while I take a bite of my burger. The light hits him in that golden way that makes everything feel softer. I don’t say anything I just watch him.

The sun dips lower, painting the diner in golden light. I don’t think about the press, the cameras, or anything beyond the warmth of his hand in mine and the ridiculous little jokes we keep sharing. Just Caleb. Just us. He leans his head back and sighs stretching his arms above his head again then rests them on the edge of the table

When we leave, he wraps an arm around my shoulders as we walk to the car. I rest my head against his chest for a second, breathing in the calm, the normalcy. The cool evening air brushes my hair and he presses a quick kiss to my temple. We walk slowly, not needing to rush anywhere. We slide into the car and Caleb starts the engine the familiar hum of it filling the space between us. I glance at him and he looks at me smiling the same way he did this morning. I don’t know how to explain it but even after everything, being here with him makes it feel like the world paused just for us

“Best press day ever?” he asks

“Definitely” I say “Because it ended here”
