I have acquired a game called Megaquarium where your only goal is building and managing an aquarium (well. Various aquariums) and can someone tell me why Plusion kids are throwing themselves into it.

The sole reason anything is running smoothly at all is Puzzle, who does maintenance on all the tanks and shit. And tells his sibbies to knock it off when they start fighting/doing stupid shit (like he never contributes to the chaos. Which he does. Just not in a damaging manner)

I was going to call her Ser Jummai, since she's kind of a knight, but I had thought that was a very european thing to be . As it turns out, 'ser' (in this context; it's also a spanish word that means 'to be') is completely made up for fantasy worlds. this didn't help me tho
In the real world, knighted soldiers are just called 'sir' and it just means they did something worthy of recognition, but in most fantasy worlds, in order to be knighted and be called 'ser' you need to have a lot of training and discipline, and earn it slowly. and I think the way medieval knights would train is rather different from how a lot of similarly-ranked fighters in nigeria, and implying that it would be exactly the same would be. not ideal
of course i still dressed her sort of like a medieval knight and am having her go along with a lot of the medieval-inspired shit that's happening around here. so i'm basically worrying about what nigerian spices would go good with an english roast. which sounds a lot better than what i'm actually doing tbh

the little town Lady McCrae lives in doesn't have houses she can just buy on a hired sword's coin, but there is a big tavern/inn that's affordable. the landlady is super sweet but doesn't really know how to solve any problems without calling for a repair person. also if you're the one who broke the thing she is not sweet at all

I was wondering how Bruce explained Jason's death to the public because he's a public figure whose life is of interest to a lot of people and Bruce coming out and saying that Jason died in an overseas terrorist bombing probably wouldn't sit well with the general populace. They would of course ask why a 15yo kid was alone with a stranger (Sheila) abroad? Where was Bruce? Bruce can't go with an accident, it would be too suspicious and there would be an investigation. So they go with an illness.
Leslie forges the paperwork, lab results etc that any media outlet could access but Bruce never actually confirms it formally. The media put the pieces together. And so the story of brave little Jason Todd, "Gotham's Very Own Cinderella" as the Gazette dubs him, who had found a new family, a place in society then had died tragically of a long term illness just as he was "saved"? It's tragic. Bruce who in a effort to make amends for his lie and do some good funds charities and research into said illness, under the Jason Todd-Wayne Foundation.
Cue Jason who returns to Gotham and starts building a reasonable relationship with Bruce, finding out that Bruce lied about him having an incurable disease and asking the million dollar question? How do they explain he's alive? As if by fate, Jason's reintroduction to the public comes just after Leslie announces that they've done it. All the money, fundraising, memorial readathons etc funded the cure for the disease. And it's all due to Jason, who is miraculously alive??? Jason who appears at a press conference with Bruce, assuring the media that while his recovery was long, arduous and at times kept him from home being in hospital for so long, he has been alive this entire time and Wayne Enterprises has capped the price of the cure and it's readily available within weeks.
I randomly reminded myself of the Still Wakes The Deep x Fatal Flaws crossover, and I just thought of the new AITRPFT kids being yote in as well.
Arthur’s having an awful time being a single parent to five kids, one of which is allergic to everything under the sun (mild exaggeration) and also chronically ill.
I hope he has some sort of support system because that sounds like hell to deal with by himself.
Consider also the people officially letting him adopt Mal being like “are you sure you want to do this? You’ve already got a lot on your plate with your own kids…” and he just glares at them and goes “I told all of them I’d take care of the kids, and I’m not breaking that promise.”

he's in way over his head but he's too stubborn to back out. the mix of lingering anger at miles for getting into trouble and then running from it by going out to sea THE DAY TWO (or more) OF THEIR KIDS HAVE A FUCKING EVENT THEY WANT THEIR DADS TO BE AT and the grief of losing that idiot (frustrated affection) + several of their close friends is definitely making that stubbornness worse
hopefully he can find someone to help him take care of all of them. be that a hired nanny or just a friend who doesn't mind coming over to help

Hope might be the only one who gets a thorough-ish explanation (or at least, as much of one as Arthur has, since he'll never know what actually happened to the Beira aside from it exploding), depending on how old all the kids are and whether or not Arthur thinks he can explain it to the younger ones.

Hi I’m ill so I’m throwing illness to the Plusion kids (at least the ones I made).
Freddy: refuses to admit weakness around anyone, except his dad and mayyybe Slash and Byte. Then he is a frail Victorian child who may not see another sunrise. Woe is he, bundled into All the blankets on the couch (exaggeration)
Percy: is also not going to admit he’s sick, but it doesn’t take long for Michael to figure it out. And as soon as he does Percy is being dragged to the doctor’s/back home for rest as soon as possible. Korvos will help him.
Somnus: refuses to admit he’s ill, even if his family can clearly tell something’s wrong. Percy has to drag him to the doctor. There is much fuss made and he’s very insistent he’s fine up until he’s not.
Puzzle: he doesn’t want to stop working, but I’m guessing with enough badgering from Laura and Vida he’ll go cuddle up with Gears in a blanket-nest. Grumbles until he’s better. Either that or he’s so stubborn he doesn’t rest until he passes out. I’m sure that’s fun for his sibbies, just finding their I’ll brother on the floor somewhere/slumped over a desk full of sharp objects.
Sunny: the most responsible about the situation. If it’s bad, he goes to a doctor, but usually just curls up with some soup and water. His mama will pop by to check on him if he’s concerned, and if he needs any other help then Carmine’s happy to help her sick fool.
Ganymede, who's almost compulsive about keeping everything clean, freaking out every time they get sick to the point where they call their moms and tell them this might really be it this time. the doctor said it was just a cold but it could be the end of them this time!!! and then their moms go 'baby we love you but you need to chill the fuck out and go rest.'
Bernardo, who insists they don't get sick, and then is a big baby when they do get sick. like, "I might recover but it will be six to eight months, and in that time if I strain myself at all I will set my recovery back and i might DIE."
Poor Laura, who was never really cared for when they got sick, and just kinda ignores their symptoms and gets really confused when Puzzle starts trying to take care of them and making them rest more. this does also mean they have no idea how to take care of a sick puzzle or vida unless someone can tell them what to do. and also that they probably wouldn't do that much for a sick puzzle or vida on their own because they'd have no idea you're actually supposed to do something when people are sick.
Wait did Robot AU Puzzle robotify Gears. Like. It’d be a new level of horrible, but he’s already come so far.
Poor Gears doesn’t understand what’s going on. She’s probably way more skittish than normal, which Puzzle would be sad about but hey now she’s going to live forever. They have eternity for her to calm down.
it would make sense tho. he's done everyone else he loves, what's one more? And he can take a little more time to make sure her new body is somewhat closer to her current one.
...Of course, that's assuming animals have souls like humans and monsters, and that puzzle can manipulate the same way. he'd probably want to test that out to be sure.
imagine there's just a random robot squirrel stuck in the warehouse who can't get out and has even less idea than Gears as to what happened to it. it's so confused. why can't it leave? why hasn't it felt hungry in forever? what the FUCK are these loud moving things that aren't any animals it's seen before
Hope was just ending a stream when she heard the knock at the door. Letting apology creep into her voice, she finished off the stream. "Sorry guys, someone's at my door. See y'all next week." With that, she hit end stream, and immediately let her shoulders slump.
A high-pitched ooo came from Ari. "Betcha it's my care package!"
Laughing, Hope shook his head. "It hasn't been long enough. Didn't you say it'd take like, a few weeks? Something like that."
"Maybe the post office was feeling nice and expedited it, just for you."
Hope chuckled again, just as the knocking came again, more insistent. "They wouldn't, trust me. I gotta go, talk to you later."
As soon as they hit "end call," Hope's demeanor changed. They weren't expecting any deliveries aside from Ari's care package (a handful of shelf-stable, magic-free snacks they'd been begging Hope to try), and they hadn't trusted anyone else with their address. Which meant either someone was in the wrong place, or something was wrong.
The knock came again, full-on banging. "I'm coming!" Hope called, rising stiffly as every muscle protested the movement. Longer streams were always fun, until Hope had to start moving around again. They fumbled for their cane beside them, leaning on it and taking deep breaths as the pain subsided— not gone, but certainly more manageable.
As she left her office, Hope thought through the weapons she had available, just in case this was danger: her gun was in its safe, in her bedroom, and she didn't feel enough in danger to grab it. And she wasn't going to use her cane if there was any way to avoid it (that would be fucking expensive to replace), but she had a baseball bat by the front door and some very good knowledge of human anatomy, after spending most of her childhood (and a decent chunk of adulthood) in and out of hospitals and having nothing better to do than grill the doctors.
When he opened the door, he was more than a little surprised by a trio of white-and-black uniforms, golden Justice Reigns pins glinting in the late afternoon sun. "Hope Smith?" The officer in the lead asked sharply, looking annoyed.
Shifting their stance to something a little more comfortable (not missing the way the officers tensed as they did), Hope nodded. "Yeah. Everything okay?" They tried to tell themselves it was fine; probably just a robbery or something in the area, and the officers were asking neighbors if they'd seen anything.
So why wouldn't the normal police handle that? Hope tried not to think too hard about that, and just hoped he was right.
"We need you to come with us."
Hope stiffened. "Why?" He tried to keep his voice level, calm. Freaking out around law enforcement wasn't going to help.
The officer looked annoyed that Hope wasn't just blindly complying. "It's a matter of multiversal safety. Will you come willingly?"
"How am I a threat to multiversal safety?" Hope asked incredulously.
The officer didn't answer, just let one hand settle on the cuffs at his belt. "You'll get some answers when you come with us."
When. Not if. When. No wiggling out of this one, Hope. Taking a deep breath and forcing her shoulders to untense, Hope lifted her free hand. "No need for that. I'll go."
A moment passed where Hope almost thought they were going to handcuff her anyways. Thankfully, though, they seemed satisfied that she wasn't running and just had one of them grab her by the arm.
The car Hope was hustled towards was black, with tinted windows so dark they couldn't see inside; but the instant they were shoved inside, they felt the familiar sensation of a magic suppressor wash over them. At least that was one thing they didn't have to worry about.
As soon as they were inside, Hope stiffened. They weren't alone in the car.
One of the other occupants was a young adult, probably in his twenties. He was wearing brightly-colored, comfy looking clothes, had his hair dyed a bright blue, and looked very kind even as his brow furrowed with concern. The other was a teenager, with dark hair and golden eyes, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his orange hoodie and eyes sparkling with curiosity. Both of them had black-and-yellow wings, which were limp from the magic suppressors.
Hope felt a sinking feeling as the car pulled away, not giving her a chance to second-guess. She didn't like this one bit.

Why has my brain randomly thrown Delusion into Bolt. It makes no sense, but the only other thing the idea might be comparable to is the Truman Show, and I’ve never seen that. So Bolt it is.
But also. Very confused Delusion escaping the TV show somehow (accidental) and not understanding how real life works At All.
Also as he attempts to get back to “his world” he accidentally adopts Somnus and Percy. Somnus is a big fan of the show and is extremely excited to be on an adventure with his hero. Percy is pretty sure this guy is insane, but his brother won’t leave and wherever they came from, it was bad enough that this is considered an improvement, even if slightly.
Basically Delusion goes on an adventure, accidentally abducts children and possibly committing crime on accident because he’s never used money in his life.
Don’t ask how whatever studio made his show kept Delusion completely isolated. It might not have been legal.

i do wonder how many people recognize him though and whether they think he's pretending to be The Guy or they think he's the actor. because if whatever they're doing to him isn't legal most people will probably think it's just, yknow, an acting role. and the actor is most likely very different outside of it. except here he is acting like he's still in the show. if they do think he's the actor tho do they think he's an asshole or do they think he's having some kind of mental health crisis. it could be both depending on what he's doing i suppose
SO Bolt’s plot is basically a director wants more realism in his tv show so he convinces a dog (Bolt) that everything happening in it is real, including his superpowers, dog freaks the fuck out when his human is kidnapped (in the show, which he thinks is real), and escapes into reality. Has no idea what’s going on and abducts a random street cat (because the antagonist of his show has two cats) to take him to his human (who figures out real quick he’s not a superdog and is just some actor gone rogue). Shenanigans ensue as they cross the country.
So you see the basic idea.
No idea how Delusion got out, because Bolt knocked himself out on a window, fell into a box of packing peanuts, and accidentally got shipped across the country (and didn’t die somehow). Which seems a little less believable when the creature in question is a 6’ 2” (I believe? unless he’s taller/shorter than DS Dream and I forgot) man, possibly with wings depending on whether or not this is a completely no-magic setting. What matters is he is just Some Guy, but he firmly believes that he’s the Chosen One here to save the day. And now he has no idea how to do that.
The kids are probably like six/seven-ish and nine/ten-ish. Like Somnus has not figured out that everything on TV is not real. No idea where he found the show if they were homeless. Maybe they’d just ran away from wherever they were staying, and he used to watch it there. And right as they make their escape, who should show up but the Chosen One, here to save the day!
Percy is also still quite young, but he’s old enough to know that Delusion’s show is just a show. So he’s confused for .5 seconds when Delusion shows up, and then concerned. But he can’t get Somnus to leave this guy alone, and the guy is at least trying to help? Seriously tho how do you not know what money is. What do you mean you have no money. Well if we’re going to be stealing shit you have to be much stealthier about it you can’t just grab it and walk away—
Delusion has no idea where these kids came from but if the little one is asking for help escaping evil than surely he, Mr. Chosen One, can be of assistance!
as long as they have access to library, or homeless shelters with tvs, somnus could keep up with Delusion's show pretty easily. libraries might be a bit more difficult for kids their age depending on if anyone ever taught them how to use a computer, but shelter rec rooms should be (somewhat?) accessible to them, and could easily be where he found out about the show in the first place
