Patter missed the sound of the waves. It felt strange to admit, even to herself, but as she curled up in the inn room she and Naksyr had taken, she listened to the leaves rustling outside the window with nothing short of sorrow. Parting her beak, she let the sound of waves whisper out, her memories washing over her.
"You alright?" Naksyr's voice broke the quiet after several minutes. He was propped up on one elbow, ears pricked towards Patter. His warm ice-blue eyes glinted in the dim light. "You're making wave noises again."
Clacking her beak a few times, Patter spoke quietly, hesitantly, with Naksyr's voice. "Do you miss it?" She paused. "I mean— do you miss the sea?"
For a long moment, Naksyr said nothing. His tail flicked behind him as he stared at the floor. "I do. A lot more than I'd like to admit." He finally said. "I mean, what's my other option? Crawl home beaten to hells and back, let everyone see they were right about the scrawny little screw-up?" Licking his lips anxiously, he looked up at Patter. "I guess I miss the sea, if not the Maw herself." Looking out the window, towards the ocean beyond the trees and buildings, he mused softly. "I felt something out there, Patter. The sea called my name, and I know it wanted to keep me. But ships need crews, and we're fresh out of one."
Patter frowned. This again. She wasn't sure of the gods herself, knowing well the stories of her kind's torments. But Naksyr got such a look in his eye when he spoke of the gods… she could never begrudge him his comfort in overseers of the world.
"I mean, we wouldn't be pirates, of course," Naksyr said quickly, seeming to take the wrong idea from her expression. "We'd be… We'd… We'd keep people safe from arseholes like the captain." He yawned. "Y'know?"
"Mm." Patter hummed, "I got you."
Naksyr smiled droopily. "We'll go over it better in the morning. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, of course." His ears twitched, and his expression turned thoughtful. "I'll never make you follow me; you know that, right Patter?"
Patter's response was to roll over and close her eyes. After several moments of silence, she heard Naksyr lower himself onto his cot and settle himself. Once she was sure he was asleep and wouldn't ask more questions, she started to make the wave noisese again.
i took a nap and i know I was thinking about something with demon Sparrow before I fell asleep. I don't remember what actually started it. all i remember now is it was a red sky AU still and Fester was gone, Spindle was himself again, and that sparrow ended up with eggs and shenanigans ensued.
Shenanigans including:
sparrow having no idea if the eggs were going to hatch and freaking out because there were like a dozen or so and he did NOT want that many kids jesus christ what do they do
spindle trying to help but only being able to suggest asking kevin
kevin also not knowing and asking what the hell they expected him to be able to do, it's not like he had egg x-ray vision
them finding the appropriate biologists and/or farmers with the appropriate gear to test the eggs and finding out that they were in fact infertile and not going to hatch
and most importantly Slash being involved somehow (i think she and byte were helping transport stuff on Kevin's request? they might've also just heard kevin was being asked for advice and tagged along and refused to leave) and spending the entire conversation wondering if she can eat the eggs and trying to decide if she should ask. and it's very clear she wants to ask something because she keeps glancing at the eggs and fidgeting
she gets the okay because sparrow decides he'd rather pretend they weren't his, and if they aren't his then he doesn't mind if someone eats them! and before slash runs off to get a pan byte's like "girl we don't even know if we can eat them"
so they find someone who checks the eggs for toxic chemicals. who says they're chemically fine but they look gross and Slash just goes 'ew really? what do they look like? actually don't tell me i want to find out for myself'
in my head the eggs were pretty big. Bigger than chicken eggs, but not enormous. and she was curious. but you can't just. ask the guy who laid the eggs if you can eat them. right ?
the eggs also cooked so that the 'whites' became clear and the yolk turned rainbow colors, which was really funny when slash's first recipe was hard boiled eggs. that's obviously not normal but how is that gross? and then byte goes to fry one. i haven't figured out what they look like raw yet but it does make everyone involved go 'oh ewwww yeah that IS gross'
somewhere there was also kevin (sarcastically) being like "Oh so you'll just go ahead and eat eggs in front of me, but with Finch you have to ask?" and Slash is like "Those weren't your eggs, asshole!"

i also need you all to know the actual translation of "pebble" isnt like the small rock pebble, it does literally translate to "baby" and simon would hear it as "baby". i wrote "pebble" because grace translated eridian babies as "pebbles" for his own amusement. therefore: you, the viewer, get the grace terminology.
I got a new game(Dog Sled Saga) and while looking for a new team member I found a dog named Trashboat???? To be clear this is a 100% single player game. So this was just RNG.

Fun option: Freddy grabbed him and somehow managed to hold onto him. And neither of them died before they got fished up by Pluto.
Idk if this is better or worse than Freddy being alone. On one hand: one sibling is alive. On the other: it’s a little baby/toddler that he has to look out for as a child himself. And now there’s weird people Freddy doesn’t know (Horror Squad) that keep trying to take Judge away (trying to give the child a break/help with the babby)
Or he just got washed ashore at some cult or something.
All I see is a tiny Judge being afraid of the strange adults and siren and then one day suddenly being glued to Pluto’s side and giggling and badly singing along with Kevin
Spider-Freddy. He drags several of his siblings out exploring some abandoned lab (probably ignoring all warnings/protests from them) and gets bit. He understandably freaks when the powers start happening, and tells Pluto about it.
Pluto helps him figure out most of his powers, and they’re just sort of having a good time.
And then somebody shows up to cause trouble, and Pluto either dies or is seriously injured. Freddy blames himself, and thinks he could’ve prevented it if he really tried.
He’s not the Spider-Man this city deserves, but he’s going to damn well try.

Actually Dragon Puzzle’s worst timeline is probably the one where they get found by Pluto. Not because Pluto would cause problems (on purpose), purely because Pluto can’t do shit about the sparker.
So he’s just going to have so many problems, almost setting things on fire (and actually starting fires) and its going to stress him out so bad, because you know if he started fires in the lab then he was in Big Trouble. Even if it was an accident (which it pretty much always was)
The only solution I can find is if Freddy befriends Tune, at some point mentions the situation, and they convince Xenon to help. Which might be easier than you think; even if he’s technically helping a serial killer, gestures at his friends who are assassins. Which isn’t much better. And besides, that’s a kid/young adult who’s just having a horrible time, and Xenon can make it better.
The question is if they can convince Pluto Xenon's genuinely got Puzzle’s best interest at heart, and he’ll actually help instead of. I don’t know. Killing Pluto’s child while he’s unconscious or otherwise making his life worse.

Idk if there’s a clear-cut Candace though. None of the Plusion kids is enough of a tattletale. Except maybe Somnus?
Mostly just because I want the kids to keep getting materials for their inventions from Gouge or the Horror Squad (possibly minus Pluto, if he doesn’t know about his kids’ shenanigans), leading to:

Also realized if Puzzle is in fact fifteen like half the kids probably shouldn’t be running heavy machinery, even if we’re calling Phineas and Ferb logic where they can handle it safely. So now I’m picturing Puzzle, Percy, and Freddy taking turns working on the day’s project while at least one of them is supervising the little ones. Or they just leave the lil kids with Somnus and that’s why he wants to bust them.
Bernardo either lives outside the Tri-State Area or is just observing the shenanigans of his siblings with amusement. He makes sure they’re all safe, and that anything they build is okay to work with. No idea why he hasn’t told their parents.
