I am Looks To The Moon.

I am what is known as an iterator. From what I understand, we do not exist in the place I have ended up. I can explain, should anyone be curious.

In a way I am glad that it is me here, and not any of those that were near to me.

I am much more used to this complete disconnect from what I once was.

I would like to learn about the creatures of this world. They’re surprisingly similar to the organisms I am used to, despite lack of evidence of purposing creatures being possible.

That makes sense I suppose. After all, cooked food is often more nutritious, though my creators used fire rather than electricity to get that effect.

Ah, I can tell you about the slugcat rodents, yes! I was never an ecological focused facility, but over the many cycles I lived through, I learned to observe.

Slugcats are omnivorous, though their seemingly preferred food source is usually insects. They are rather low on the food chain, but make up for that by being very crafty.

They are social creatures. One of my overseers reported finding a colony of around twenty, though the likelihood that there were bigger colonies further away from myself and my brother’s structures is high- it is safer out there, far from the high water output leading to torrential downpours.

Slugcats are very useful for purposing- a term used to refer to genetic modification for the sake of a task.

A very good friend of mine purposed a slugcat to help me, once. If I recall correctly he made it carnivorous? I do not know the reason why… we were unable to communicate by that point, and my brother had shut off all access to our shared grounds so my friend could not send one of his overseers to connect to mine, and I had too few left to send to him.

the one in your picture is a Dedenne, by the way. they communicate with electricity! you can tell because their ears are kinda shaped the same way a satellite dish is, and their whiskers work like radio antenna.

A dedenne… I have begun calling it Zapper, because I observed it charring its food with a zap of electricity.

It is somewhat endearing.

The rodents I speak of aren’t of this world, actually, they are of my old world.

I believe the species was known as Slugcats? Though that name is quite misleading, as they were neither gastropod nor feline, they were very much rodents.

Staring at me.

There was once a time when my creators would come to me for answers. For me to do their tasks for them. I grew to resent them for that very thing.

Yet now I have so many questions, there are so many things I don’t know.

I do not want to demand answers from others.

Then again… they could just deny my questioning.
