once shane moves in with ilya and they’re able to codependencymax i think shane’s parents (probably yuna) broach the topic of how theyre together all the time but shane cuts her off before she can even say anything with “I know!! isn’t it great we get to do everything together it’s the best!!! we thought we’d have to wait until we retired but we get to play together and live together and i’m very happy and Ilya is too!!!” and she’s like okay honeymoon period got it and then like 5 years later thinks about trying again but decides it’s not worth it because those two want to live in eachothers skin but that’s not possible to this will do.

I see alot of fics where Shane “isn’t good w kids” bc he’s “awkward” but tbhhhh my biggest headcanon is that actually (before meeting uncle Ilya, whom would be the fun uncle, Shane is still a fav however) uncle Shane is the Pike kids fav uncle, but Shane doesn’t baby talk kids. he speaks to children of any and all ages like they are adults (which is better for their development - which is why he does it) and Shane is actually REALLY good w kids.

ilya is in one of his depressive episodes and shane tries to cheer him up by telling him about all the things shane loves about him. ilya is quiet for a moment and then mumbles, mainly to himself, "noo don’t kill yourself you’re so sexy aha" before bursting into laughter and shane has no idea what’s going on but it’s the first time he‘s seen ilya even so much as smile in days, so he‘ll take it
