My Children Now || Iruko Umino ||
A/n: I had to write that scenario out, I'll write out more of them together but I needed to do this.
Konoha had made one catastrophic mistake was that they let you stay longer than two weeks.
At first the village thought you were harmless.
A slightly spoiled foreign princess who cried during winter, wore silk in inappropriate temperatures, and followed Iruka around like an affectionate tropical bird.
Then you discovered the neglected children and suddenly the village had a problem...a very spoiled and rich problem.
It started with Naruto because of course it would start with one of the loneliest kids.
Iruka should have known something terrible was brewing the moment he walked into Ichiraku and found you glaring at an elderly civilian hard enough to qualify as attempted murder.
Naruto sat beside you happily eating ramen completely oblivious.
“What happened?” Iruka asked cautiously.
You pointed dramatically. “That man called Naruto a demon.”
The civilian paled immediately.
Naruto slurped noodles loudly. “I told her it happens all the time.”
You slowly turned toward Naruto with the expression of someone hearing the worst sentence imaginable. “…What.”
Iruka immediately decided silence was the safest option.
You looked back toward the civilian, towards Naruto then back toward the civilian. "What?!"
The old man visibly sweated.
“You are a child,” you finally said softly to Naruto turning to him again.
Naruto shrugged with practiced carelessness that made something in Iruka’s chest ache.
"You will apologize." Your voice was low, then your wolves appeared. The man did of course, in stutters then soon he was running away in a puff of dust.
That was the exact moment you apparently decided Naruto Uzumaki belonged to you now.
The next morning Naruto was seen being dragged through the market wrapped in expensive furs while you loudly complained he was “too skinny.”
Naruto had new clothes, proper meals, an actual bedtime and had somehow acquired two enormous wolves that followed you everywhere and now guarded him like royal protectors.
Naruto started calling your estate “home.”
Iruka rubbed his face tiredly as Kakashi casually appeared beside him atop a rooftop overlooking the chaos below.
“Your princess has acquired another one.”
You were currently holding Sasuke Uchiha by the wrist while the poor boy stared at you with visible confusion.
“He needs emotional support,” you declared.
“You live alone and look haunted.”
“You glare like a widow.”
“…What does that even mean?”
Your massive white wolf leaned down and shoved its gigantic head directly into Sasuke’s side.
To everyone’s horror…Sasuke had actually pet it.
Kakashi snorted beside Iruka. “Oh that one’s definitely hers now.”
“It’s spreading,” Iruka muttered.
Sakura had cried one time after Ino insulted her forehead and suddenly you appeared behind her like an avenging spirit.
“That pink-haired child is mine now.” You pulled the girl to your chest.
Hinata stuttered nervously during a diplomatic dinner and you immediately wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“This one is anxious. I’m taking her.”
Hiashi Hyuga nearly choked to death.
Neji looked deeply disturbed when you also claimed him fifteen minutes later.
“You glare like Sasuke,” you explained.
“That is not a valid reason.”
Nobody even knew how you managed it.
One diplomatic visit to Suna later and suddenly Gaara sat silently beside you while you brushed sand from his hair with heartbreaking gentleness.
Kankuro and Temari watched in absolute disbelief.
“…Did she just domesticate Gaara?” Kankuro whispered.
Gaara, who trusted approximately nobody, quietly held one of your wolves like an emotional support animal.
Temari stared blankly into the distance. “Oh my god.”
Back in Konoha the situation only escalated.
Because now the children followed you everywhere.
Naruto kicked open doors screaming “MOM LOOK.”
Sakura brought you flowers.
Hinata clung shyly to your sleeves.
Neji pretended he did not care while standing suspiciously close to you at all times.
Sasuke lurked nearby like an emotionally constipated cat.
Gaara only tolerated physical contact from you and your wolves.
The village elders were horrified. “You cannot simply collect children!” Homura snapped.
You gasped in offense. “I am not collecting them.”
Then Naruto raised his hand proudly. “She kinda is.”
You ignored him. "These children require affection.”
You pointed dramatically at Sasuke. "That one doesn’t.”
Sasuke looked almost touched despite himself.
Homura sputtered. “The Hyuga heirs certainly do!”
Hinata immediately clung tighter to your arm.
Hiashi sat nearby looking one inconvenience away from death.
Neji muttered, “I live here now.”
“You absolutely do not,” Hiashi hissed.
Your second wolf growled lowly.
Hiashi chose silence....wise choice.
"I will not stand by to let children be emotionally neglected and abused...if you wish to intervene..do take it up with my father!"
Tsunade sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose, the woman rather not wanting to deal with a diplomatic incident or go to war. "I need a drink."
Kakashi wandered up beside Iruka again watching the chaos unfold with open amusement. "Aren’t you going to stop her?”
Iruka stared at the two gigantic wolves currently sprawled around your “adopted” children like furry bodyguards from hell.
One lifted its massive head slowly, its yellow eyes locked onto him.
Iruka immediately looked away. “…I’d rather not get my throat torn out.”
Below them Naruto was loudly arguing that he should be the favorite child.
“You are all my favorites,” you declared.
Sasuke crossed his arms. “Obviously I’m the favorite.”
“Excuse me?!” Sakura snapped.
Gaara silently sat beside you already knowing he’d won.
And somehow despite the screaming, the chaos, the wolves, and the diplomatic incidents waiting to happen, Iruka realized something.
Naruto’s laugh echoed through the street.
Hinata smiled without fear.
Even Sasuke looked less alone.
Iruka sighed tiredly as Kakashi patted his shoulder.
“You’re marrying her, by the way.”
Iruka nearly choked to death. “What?!”
