Imagine a world where netflix Devil May Cry is a monster of the week show. That would be pretty awesome

What I would've done is make Dante indifferent to humanity at the beginning of the show. He doesn't hate them but he doesn't love them. He doesn't know where he belongs since he's half human and half demon. His father, mother and brother (heh) are dead and he's basically alone.
He does demons killing solely for money. If you don't have the money then he won't help you. Throughout the show though his opinion on humanity become better. He matures up and starts to act more responsible. Still a cocky little shit, but a more responsible one.
Lady and Dante also has a cat and mouse relationship. Lady isn't a government lap dog just a young woman who all hates demons and thinks they're all evil. Lady is constantly trying to kill Dante just for the man to constantly escape.
Enzo is also more prominent in the story. He's the one who gives him each job every episode, and this far in the story Devil May Cry doesn't exist yet. Enzo's death later on can lead to Dante opening business up actually.
Meanwhile season 2 can lead up to Vergil and Arkham where Dante and Lady team up.
