I've had a while to think about the game and form an opinion. On one hand, I was slightly disappointed at going from multiple endings from the first game to one in the sequel. On the other hand there are also so many new features in both gameplay and world building. There are new songs, new fighting mechanics, and very challenging fights. The fact that this game experiments and tries new things in a 3D space is so fun! But there is a slight lack of something, an itch that wasn't scratched for me.

For example: in one part walking around the 3D world (it was one area), you could fall off the map like in a modern game and land... somewhere. If you kept walking around without loading a save, the flavour text describing the emptiness around you got more and more corrupted. Scary and spooky, right? What could be down here??? Turns out just that. There were some points in the story, in the easter eggs, that fell a bit flat compared to the first game. It felt a little like more like the set, and the play overtook the overall story and characters, which were a highlight for me in the first game. Some people might prefer that and play in the coliseum for daily challenges. Others might be hungry for more story. (Like meee)

In any case, I would recommend Everhood and Everhood 2 because they're fantastic works of love made by an Indie developer. The art and music are beautiful and it deserves a download.
